Secretin stimulates pancreatic ductal secretion, increasing fluid within the pancreatic duct and duodenum—making subtle ductal abnormalities easier to detect.

🔹 Useful in chronic pancreatitis
🔹 Pancreas divisum
🔹 IPMN & duct–cyst communication
🔹 Recurrent acute pancreatitis
🔹 Can provide functional assessment of exocrine secretion

In short: Secretin makes the pancreatic duct “speak louder” on MRCP.
