If you can’t admit to the times you weren’t a good friend, a good partner, or when you made decisions that didn’t reflect how you wanted to be perceived, then you’ll never grow up
Betrayal hits differently when you’re not just processing the action, but grieving the person you truly believed would never be capable of hurting you. The shock cuts deeper than the damage itself.
It hurts when you realize you gave your time, energy, and genuine care to someone who was never worth the space you made for them. Sometimes I just sit back and wonder, why did I even let you into my life in the first place?
I’ve realised that caring about someone doesn’t always make it easy to keep them in your life. You can genuinely love someone, appreciate your history with them and still reach a point where their behaviour makes it harder and harder to enjoy having them around. You start noticing the little things you used to overlook. The disrespect, the lack of consideration, the unnecessary attitude and the way you constantly find yourself making excuses for behaviour that you wouldn’t tolerate from anyone else. Eventually, you realise you’re spending more time trying to understand their behavior than actually enjoying their presence. And perhaps the saddest part is watching someone you once felt so close to slowly become someone you have to keep explaining and making excuses for. You don’t stop caring about someone. You simply realise that caring about them isn’t enough to make their presence healthy for you anymore.
Learn how to LET GO. Half the pain you carrying comes from holding onto people and situations that keep hurting you. Walking away ain’t giving up...it’s finally choosing yourself. Once you truly respect yourself, you’ll stop fighting to keep anything that doesn’t respect you.
You can’t reconcile with someone who refuses to admit how they mishandled you.
Accountability comes before reconciliation. Some people would rather lose you than admit they were wrong.
Right now, your greatest responsibility is getting your life back on track and becoming the strongest, healthiest version of yourself. Stop wasting your energy worrying about who stays or who goes. This chapter isn’t about chasing people or trying to hold everything together. It’s about coming back to yourself. Heal your mind. Rebuild your discipline. Take care of your body. Protect your peace. Get serious about your goals. And reconnect with the person you were before you started losing pieces of yourself trying to be everything for everyone else. You don’t need to know who will be there at the end. Focus on becoming someone you’re proud to bring into the next chapter. The people who are meant to be part of your next chapter will meet you there. For now, your job is to become the person you want to be when you arrive.
I just want my person back.
I want things to go back to the way they used to be,
back to when you loved me,
back to when I was all you wanted.
I miss the old you.
sometimes we hold onto the kind of love that keeps hurting us simply because it resembles the love we always imagined having. so we excuse the dishonesty, inconsistency, mixed signals, and affection that only appears when it’s convenient. meanwhile, we overlook the love that is already showing up. the love that listens. stays patient. chooses us without making us beg. the love that is honest, gentle, considerate, and consistent even when life gets difficult. sometimes we become so attached to what we think love should look like that we fail to recognize what real love actually feels like.
I want someone who genuinely enjoys having me around, even when nothing exciting is happening. Someone who thinks of me without needing a reminder, texts me first, sends random updates about their day, and makes plans just because they want time with me. Someone who feels comfortable telling me what’s on their mind and sees me as one of the first people they want to share life with. I want to feel wanted in the ordinary moments too.
