intentionally an anonymous-as-possible twitter for me to like things i like and not post any original content. I may softblock those i dont know irl (f/23) 18+
@hankgreen i am always freaking out about the population density of europe. I great up in minnesota and lived in england for two years, I was always expressing to people there than minnesota is bigger than england and has 1/10th the people. it boggles me how so many fit
@Misabelle717 @a_ze15@hankgreen @AlekZahn I too have been cursed with shark dick knowledge and now because I have no filter when I'm at an aquarium and a shard swims against the glass i keep saying 'oh that one's male' out loud the moment i notice. it's. a problem
@buddingblossoms a) she was anesthetized for a separate injury and does know she was put under, she was just surprised at a new 'wound' that wasn't there before she went to sleep. b) apparently flank incision sites are more common in the uk for spays??? if you look up 'flank spay' there's pics
@moonyriott@dearhankandjohn Okay I think through this tweet I've discovered that I'm an abnormally low sneezer?? I sneeze maybe 2-6 times a month I think?? If I sneeze thrice in a day it's cause to worry that I'm coming down with a cold..
@HerbMerriner@hankgreen I don't see anywhere in this thread where Hank is saying 'everything is fine', to me his thesis appears to be 'having a service economy doesn't seem to be correlated to trusting scientists less', with a side point of'statistically trust in scientists does not appear to be waning'
@MeaslyUniverse@hankgreen he talks about it a bit on the vlogbrothers video, and mentions some other details about the run-up to it on the new Dear Hank & John episode if you want more info!
@sneakyfallow@hankgreen to be clear i brought up my sister cause she's a librarian and recommending books to parents for their kids is a fair portion of what she does
@sneakyfallow@hankgreen if you have access, libraries should have a decent comics/graphic novel section you can peruse!! my sister always recommends the Ranger's Apprentice series for boys who don't particularly want to read, if he's willing to try a book book. might be a bit advanced for 8 though
@danirat I had to watch Dancer in the Dark by Lars Von Trier in class and it gave me a horrific panic attack and made me much more sensitive to death scenes in film ever since.. genuinely traumatized me and I sorta despise the director, not just for that but it's a big contributor
@jaymadesmth @wyandoted Because the actual series title is so generic, also the official website is warriorcats dot com, it just became a way to talk about the series without having to clarify you mean the series about cats every single time
@NaritaCoree On Twitter got so bad that I just didn’t want to be on it anymore. But yeah as far as artists reaching a wider audience it’s hit and miss. Larger furry discords have been amazing for me for commissions but it’s not great for forming a wider audience
@NaritaCoree My guess would be people who purely use Twitter as a way to get social engagement in fandom, especially older users who were used to livejournal being an only option. I personally used discord instead of Twitter for a few years for that aspect because the social climate
@hopchic@DrSprankle@TylerHuckabee Most people are able to differentiate. I wasn’t allowed to pretend to cast spells because it would bring the devil closer, specifically. By contrast, I wasn’t allowed to watch parts of Star Wars until I was older simply because they thought it was inappropriate.
@DrSprankle Specifically video games where you as the protagonist cast magic - my dad was okay with reading fantasy but thought play-acting magic was dangerous. Also was told once that guided meditation could be dangerous Re: demon possession
