Numerous people I am seeing are touting (insert ticker symbol here) as the next $PLTR.
I don’t blame them, it drives engagement and they probably have a good reason to be bullish on whatever company they are talking about.
Not every company can be the next $PLTR. That’s why this past year has been so crazy, because it doesn’t happen often.
It feels like greed and euphoria are starting to set in.
Nonetheless I wish everyone the best of luck and one of the best parts of investing is that you are given the opportunity to experience these crazy run-ups and benefit greatly off them. I was fortunate to begin investing in $PLTR for the past 4 years.
@Benioff@salesforce@AnthropicAI Getting sold on a steak dinner and powerpoint presentation. Im guessing customers will get up charged for a Claude wrapper
Exactly. I have never invested in any other biotech in my life, but i do love “platform” companies with strong flywheels. Usually this applied in a software sense but despite having very little technical knowledge of biology, I see the potential of a strong flywheel that’s still in its first innings.
The combo of proprietary data + differentiated approach to bringing drugs to market + strong leadership that has incredible conviction, i am more than okay with the risk reward trade off that comes with the nature of smaller companies (especially in the biotech space).
@BCValueInvestor I’ll add a good Peter lynch quote in the same vein as this "Selling your winners and holding your losers is like cutting the flowers and watering the weeds”
“We are routinely going to be trying to fly under the radar as long as possible so that we get a really substantial lead in moving programs”
“We believe that is in the best interest of the company and shareholders to hold our cards as close as we can”
Carl Hansen just now at the BofA HC Conference. Long $ABCL
@tyler_bosserman@BCValueInvestor It really is. The foundation is there, now it’s just time for execution.
Looking forward to the call tomorrow for sure
$ABCL AbCellera CEO Carl Hansen writes a five page letter to shareholders citing Peter Thiel and the zero to one mindset, long term aspirations, and more.
This letter feels like he knows the company has a retail following now and he’s writing directly to us.
“At AbCellera we run our business with an emphasis on disciplined capital allocation and long-term thinking, and with a foundation of scientific and technological excellence. If we stay this course, I believe AbCellera can one day join the ranks of the iconic companies that are admired by their peers and that have delivered enormous value to patients, to society, and to their shareholders. That is the future we are after.”
“As the largest shareholder, I have the majority of my personal wealth in AbCellera
and have travelled this path with you all.”
I continue to be thrilled to be a shareholder in this company, and have full confidence in Carl as a leader. Wow…
@JackPrescottX@chadwahl It’s insane how little time this took holy shit. I’m sure I’ll have the same coming to Jesus moment everyone else has when I get started
This is sick, I’ve read a few of your articles about $ABCL (which has been very helpful in understanding the company and building my position up) and was wondering how long did it take you to get this built out? I come from a finance background so im also curious how relatively intuitive the process of learning the basics of AIP are.
Josh Brown on dealing with other people's opinions:
"Well, they can kiss my a**. Everyone gets things wrong. You need to care enough to be able to put your ideas out there."
@MikeLongTerm I don’t see how this doesn’t play out favorably in the long term for $GRAB
Stellar company that is continually depending its moat as time goes on
