@FirmiSmo Indeed. Nothing to do with this account. Would think It’s the guys who have stolen the name on Facebook (used to be 1872) https://t.co/LHPXkKMzdU?
In Alexis Mac Allister and Wataru Endo, today was the first time Liverpool saw two players score their first Premier League goals for the club from outside the box in the same match since October 2004 - also against Fulham (Xabi Alonso & Igor Biscan). #LFC#LIVFUL
And we’re back. After an enforced period of absence because of family illness, we’re easing ourselves back into the saddle at Kenilworth Road today. #LFC
@rebekkarnold You could argue that in the key moments we nearly always fell short and that a lack of any goals in open play in those big games hinted at wider problems that had been creeping up.
@DavidHickman87 It’s a fair point, but the wider argument is looking across those finals and key games where we were unable to score. That’s where I was going.
2) Yes, we were in it until the end, but in reality City were the best team and Madrid beat us easily - and the overriding point there is that in those finals and important moments we couldn’t score goals in open play.
4) All that aside, bedding in the new players with the injuries and senior players well out of form has proved to be a tough ask in an unsettled team, still suffering balance issues with the loss of Mané and Salah being asked to play out wider early on. #LFC
3) Some of these players are past their best and unfortunately can’t put the miles through their legs anymore game after game for the pressing style we’ve had.
Looking back to last season without cross-tinted glasses, there are some undeniable truths: 1) All that talk of us not replacing Gini with fresh younger legs has come home to roost.
That said, we must also be fair in terms of the injuries we’ve had and clearly miss the pace and electricity of Diaz. Konaté was really hitting beast from before injury too.
That’s not to be disloyal to Klopp btw. I mean, he’s been here before. Players run into the ground, legs gone and in need of replacing. We genuinely need two in the centre of midfield who have youth, pace and guile. #LFC#LIVLEE
Look towards our immediate future, there’s an Arsenal team improving fast, Newcastle and City able to outspend most sides and us genuinely looking well short of answers on and off the pitch at the moment. #LFC
