TODAY WAS JIMMY NOVAK'S BIRTHDAY AND NOBODY TOLD ME ?!?!!!!?!! oh well there's still 40 minutes before midnight where i am and that's more than enough time to celebrate 🥲 happy birthday pookster you deserved the world my best guy ilysm
atheist dean who didn’t believe in any religion and mocked the mere idea of angels existing, ending up being saved by one and for the angel to fall for him and rebel againt his very conditioning and god is actually insane. you’ll never convince me that this shit isn’t fire
i love that the way the winchesters behave during their (respective) sex scenes in the show really plays into their characters perfectly. dean is submissive because he has, in a way, never previously been able to step away from a role that matured him far too early. 🧵
one of the reasons i believe dean is gay is because as a bisexual guy i cannot take the way he acts around/talks about women seriously. i be watching n thinking what is wrong w him like it genuinely sounds like he's mimicking something he heard other men say at a bar or smth
supernatural’s problem with biblical horror is that they took very cool concepts and basically used them in some of the worst ways possible or they criminally under-utilised them. for example:
• eve, the mother of all monsters, should have been a multiple seasons long antagonist, not a one trick pony for a couple of episodes. it would have been interesting to see her send monsters after the brothers or turn one of them/someone dear to them into a monster she could use as a weapon [ensues the other one trying to save him, etc…]
• the four horsemen, each should have had at the very least one dedicated episode and even then that seems to be a little light for characters that are so important to the biblical apocalyptic lore. even though death is a recurring character, the other three are barely seen outside of mentions or flashbacks. once again criminally under-utilised.
there are other examples i’ll bring up at another time but the bottom line is:
supernatural did itself a disservice by focusing too much on the angels, which in the grand scheme of things aren’t interesting once demystified due to inconsistent power scaling, and should have spread out their biblically horrifying elements which in turn would have added to the mythos of the show in a more positive and diverse manner.
"what do you love most about castiel" "why do you like cas so much" these are impossible questions to answer. you might be better off asking what i Don't love about castiel. that is a much shorter (potentially nonexistent) list
the one from supernatural when dean saved cas from the empty and brought him home to the bunker and pulled him in for a kiss right before telling him how much he loved him too, that definitely changed my life
reason 1 of 3844872405 that I’m obsessed with this ship. they come from completely different worlds, Cas is millenias older than Dean and yet they find common ground and understand each other to a cosmic degree, despite it all
