Had the chance to observe a mock lecture today given by a Latino gentleman and I felt like I was watching a dog walk on its hind legs…because the idea of someone that looks like my dad (Latino) communicating science is so novel to me! ❤️ INCREASE URM REPRESENTATION IN STEM!!!

From a fellow stutterer, thank you for having the patience and compassion for such a severe speech impediment right out the gate! This is not common, unfortunately. My speech has improved over the years, but as a child I remember how scary it was the develop relationships.

Marrying a stutterer changed my life.

Our first date was difficult. I'd forgotten he'd written the word "stutterer" somewhere in his Bumble profile.

We met at the base of a local hike — just as storm clouds were rolling in.

It took at least a minute for him to say "Hello."
