@kelsey_surmacz4@Flux_cc Rome was not built in a day, nor were the Carolina Hurricanes. Dubas has to wait for good trades to develop. He’s done well in the past 12 months.
@kelsey_surmacz4@TheHockeyNews Eventually the Pens will want a big top six center, and these guys are not big. Kotkaniemi has the size but not the scoring. Maybe Zonnon is the answer.
@kelsey_surmacz4@TheHockeyNews Ah no. Dubas is doing very well in the trade market and there is no reason to change course. I’m not sure Bedard is worth 20 mil. Yes for Celebrini but not anyone else.
@kelsey_surmacz4 Offer sheets like the one from the Flyers are a mistake to match an a mistake for Philly. Can’t have one player taking up that much cap space. Not good for the rest of the team.
@kelsey_surmacz4 If you really want to irritate Pat Verbeek yes. On the other hand, I would trade for the player Verbeek has to let go to pay for Carlsson.
@kelsey_surmacz4 It’s a good positive opinion on Dubas. However, I don’t think Novak or Girard are in the long term plan. Also, players are evaluated on other qualities besides goals scored, especially defensemen. He’s right about the draft strategy.
@JoshYohe_PGH The trade for Kaedan Korczak is much better than you think. Korczak could develop into a core top four defender given more ice time. That’s the big improvement. And Wotherspoon was replaced.
@kelsey_surmacz4 Awesome. Korczak is bigger, younger and was on the Canada WJC team. Played the full season with Vegas including 13 playoff games. Reasonable contract for 4 years. Looks like a salary dump by Vegas.
@TheDanKingerski He also didn’t make a bad trade just to satisfy the mob. See for example what Toronto gave up for Carlo last year and what they got back this year.
