@s_sullivan I just finished the cult book that carries your name, Sullivanians, on your recommendation! (Jfc, Clement Greenberg!)... and followed it up with "The Devils of Loudon," haha! They're calling it Sex Cult Summer, people! (They aren't).
@aufjedenfall A weird quirk of Gen Z is that even the children of super right wing Xers have gender neutral names. My students are a sea of Taylors, Jordans, and Rileys.
@JayDeeWriting This reminds me - do you think the Pascal character in "Eddington" is based on him? I do, which makes the "Fireworks" scene much funnier, given what happened after its release.
@loosecanons_ Total Recall is prob. my favorite Arnold movie. I haven't seen T2 since high school, but I owe it a Great Debt because my high-school resemblance to Eddie Furlong earned me my first kiss.
@loosecanons_@CarterNixon Ahh, yeah, Klute is better. Feels like a technicality though, since I don't remember him at all. Also, since we're on the topic, I've told you that Sly was involved in Metzger's "Score" when it was a play, rather than a movie, right?
@loosecanons_@CarterNixon This Discourse has been in my feed all morning, which has prompted a question I am maybe serious about: Is the best Stallone movie "Death Race 2000"?
@fake_estate_ Two of them went after me last week. This is my third straight year. In two weeks they'll be chill again though. The window of blackbird wrath is short!
Hockney spent his retirement years making giant, colorful, incredibly ambitious paintings that rival all the pool stuff that put him on the map in the 60s. I hope I spend the last decades of my life doing some equivalent. He also looked just like my dad, which may also await me.
