Years of watching BTS get dragged, dismissed, misrepresented, and blame and now suddenly their achievements are “K-pop’s achievements”? Be serious.
BTS are not a collective achievement that every company gets to claim whenever it benefits them. If your groups have their own achievements, celebrate them. Give them their flowers. You don’t need to borrow BTS’s name, impact, or accomplishments to make your point.
What’s especially frustrating is how BTS are constantly expected to carry the weight of K-pop and Korea whenever it benefits the industry. BTS are deeply proud of their country and have always shown up with genuine love and responsibility. That kindness should never become an excuse to take advantage of them.
You cannot ignore BTS when it’s convenient, allow misinformation and hate to circulate, and then suddenly reach for their name when you need to prove something to the world.
And no, ARMY should not be expected to quietly accept that.
BTS opened doors. BTS built history. BTS created records that became milestones for an entire industry. That does not mean every future achievement automatically belongs to everyone else.
If you want to celebrate K-pop, celebrate K-pop. But give BTS their credit where it belongs.
And to the companies constantly claiming they have the groups who can “end BTS”....focus on your own groups and their achievements. Why is BTS still necessary for your narrative?
BTS are humble, kind, they may choose diplomacy over confrontation.
But that does NOT mean people get to use their goodwill whenever it suits them.
ARMY, we can be respectful and still draw a line:
BTS are not a shortcut.
BTS are not a marketing tool.
BTS are not an industry prop.
And BTS’s achievements are not yours to claim.
Give BTS their credit. Period!
