A pop culture podcast where @sophlynne & @eleanorrthomas watch, read, cringe and chat about (almost) every adaptation of Pride & Prejudice. Out fortnightly 🎙📖
Happy 2nd birthday to us, @thebennetedit. We’ve been holding onto this for a while, but The Bennet Edit, as incredible & fun & eye-opening as it has been, has come to a close. Thank you to everyone who was a guest or contributor, but most of all: thank you for listening. ❤️
It’s only taken just over 4 years since The Bennet Edit begun and we are FINALLY watching the 2005 Pride and Prejudice. It’s my (Sophie’s) first time watching 😌
one thing i love about jane austen is that she's like "riding a horse isn't sexy. u know what's sexy? CARRYING an EXTRA UMBRELLA. what's sexy is when a man DISTRACTS and REMOVES some INFANTS who are BOTHERING U. NOTICING when ur TIRED and finding u a SEAT...THAT is the sex"
JANE: are you sure you should trust this guy Wickham? you met him literally 5 minutes ago
LIZZY: (incredulously) you think a hot person would just lie? just stand there and be hot and lie?
boys always assume that sending nudes is what grabs a gal's attention, when what really grabs their attention is the patronage of the esteemed lady Catherine deBourgh.
So @BOTYtheatre got a standing ovation last night for our wee Pride and Prejudice* (*sort of) and if that's not enough to make me weep rainbow coloured tears all day i don't know what is.
A quick review of tonight’s ‘Pride and Prejudice (sort of)’:
COME TO GLASGOW AND SEE @BOTYtheatre’s SHOW AT TRON THEATRE. It’s one of the best adaptations we’ve seen yet 🎭🎟✨
