A reminder for those attending Cardinals-Seahawks today that Rob Base is performing at halftime
Also a reminder that for Cards to claim NFC West title today, it takes (1) an AZ win over SEA and (2) a Rams loss vs SF
In other words, it takes two
Potentially great news from the SE USA - the flu has apparently returned to college campuses, with outbreaks reported at FSU, Florida, Georgia, and FAMU.
During prior pandemics, the return of endemic flu signaled the end of the pandemic.
The flu has returned to India after an absence of ~18 months. This almost certainly indicates that covid has become endemic in India and that there will be no significant future waves.
So, regardless of your opinion over whether restrictions and masks work, future mandates are counterproductive and cause more harm
That’s it

AZ CoV2 Update: 6/27/21
It took a few extra weeks, but we now see a clear summer stimulus in AZ.
However, it is minimal as we expected.
Notice Pos% was 6X higher last year and only 1 week from peaking.
Cases are still lower than Sep 2020 and Mar 2021.
Hosps still unaffected.
US CoV2 2020 vs. 2021: 6/19/21
1) Cases/Pos% - Both passed 2020 inflection point without turning up. Separating daily
2) Hosps - Hits 2020 inflection point this week. Flattening but unlikely to turn up. Will separate
3) Deaths - Slower decline than 2020 but likely to separate

US CoV2 Update: 4/25/21
Excellent signs across the board and just what we've been expecting, but it's a relief to see it actually happen.
- Hosps/ICUs rolled over and are nosediving
- Cases/Pos% nosediving since 4/15
- Deaths did NOT follow Cases/Hosps upward. Falling again
The first 100% capacity indoor sporting event since the March covid shutdowns will be the UFC in Florida this weekend with 15,000 people present indoors at Jacksonville Arena. Florida governor Ron Desantis says his state is “an oasis of freedom.” https://t.co/aj79xZsqj2
US CoV2 Update: 4/21/21
Howbadah?
Every metric fell today except Tests, but that just makes the Case drop that much more meaningful. It also means a big drop in Pos%.
What comes next?
US CoV2 Update: 4/18/21
Good numbers as the expected Spring stimulus starts to wane like we hoped.
Next, we expect an April-to-May cliff drop:
- 3 straight days of Hosp declines
- Cases rolling over
- Positivity rolling over
- Deaths are not turning up with Hosps. Still falling
US CoV2 Update: 4/10/21
Spring seasonal stimulus was expected and did arrive.
Thankfully, it was muted relative to prior stimulus points, which was also expected when looking at the March shoulder N. Hemisphere.
Upward stimulus in the NE is already receding. Mid-Atlantic next.
@WSendzik @St_Catharines Mayor Sendzik, there is no amount of “hard work” that can change the viral trajectory. However, it’s possible you can make it worse by prolonging the chance for exposure to high risk people during times of greater seasonal stimulus.
This is what happened to Michigan.
