Clickbait headlines might spike your CTR briefly, but they wreck trust and hurt conversions later. Relevant clicks always beat a large volume of the wrong clicks.
#MarketingMistakes#DigitalMarketing
This matches what we keep telling clients. Your website isn't the only thing AI is checking anymore, it's cross referencing Google, Yelp, BBB, reviews, all of it. If those don't line up, the AI has less reason to trust you exist.
AI search made Yelp useful again.
Foundation and AirOps analyzed more than 28 million local business answers. Yelp was cited 512,680 times in Q4 2025.
BBB came next at 149,700. Angi had 145,600.
For the main third-party profiles in your market, I want:
> The exact business name, address, and phone number used on Google
> Correct service categories
> A complete description for that location
> Real job and team photos
> Current reviews from real customers
> A link to the right local page
> Hours and service information that match the rest of the web
Your own website still matters a lot.
These profiles give AI another place to confirm that the company exists, serves that market, and has customers willing to back it up.
A plumbing company can call itself the best plumber in Dallas on its own website.
Google, Yelp, BBB, Angi, local press, and customer reviews connecting that same company to plumbing in Dallas gives AI far more outside evidence.
Don't build 200 empty profiles on junk directories.
Put the work into the sites customers and AI answers already use.
@semrush This is the shift a lot of businesses are still catching up to. Optimizing for a human reader and optimizing for an AI system pulling a citation aren't quite the same task anymore, and most content still isn't built for both.
An impression only means your content was seen. A click means someone engaged. Businesses that track only impressions are measuring visibility, not interest.
#MarketingMetrics#SEO
Your site takes forever to load and visitors bounce before they even see your content. Speed isn't optional anymore, it's the first impression.
#WebsiteSpeed#DigitalMarketing
More people browse on their phone than on a desktop today. If your buttons are tiny and text is hard to read, you're losing customers before they even scroll.
#MobileFriendly#UX
An outdated design quietly tells visitors your business isn't trustworthy, even when your service is great. Clean layouts and clear CTAs build confidence fast.
#WebDesign#BrandTrust
@SEOKeval Curious how this ratio shifts for you outside ecom, for local service businesses we work with, on-page and local signals often move the needle faster than link volume alone. Do you see the split changing much by industry?
@semrush Genuinely useful update. Curious how many brands are actually going to act on this data versus just glance at it once, seeing which social content earns clicks in Search is one thing, adjusting content strategy around it is another.
This maps almost exactly to how we think about it too, SEO isn't one channel anymore, it's a system spanning traditional search, AI Overviews, and being cited in tools like ChatGPT and Gemini. Most businesses are still only building for layer one.
SEO is now WAY bigger than ranking #1 on Google.
Not because Google matters less, but because the job of SEO has expanded.
Today, SEO is also about:
1. Getting found when someone searches on Google
2. Appearing in AI Overviews for Google searches
3. Getting recommended in ChatGPT answers
4. Owning the comparison searches in your category
5. Showing up on the sites influencing all of the above
And you canโt do that by JUST:
- Writing more blog posts
- Building more backlinks
- Adding schema
- Tracking a bunch of AI prompts
- Renaming SEO to โAEOโ
You need the entire system working together.
Hereโs how I think about the 5 layers of SEO in 2026:
If users can't quickly find your services, prices, or contact info, they'll leave. Simple navigation keeps people exploring instead of exiting. ๐
#UserExperience#WebsiteTips
A gorgeous website means nothing if nobody can find it on Google. Meta descriptions, headings, and keywords all matter for ranking.
#SEO#SearchVisibility
This tracks with what we see with clients too, the tool stack for visibility has quietly split into two layers now: traditional SEO and AI-search optimization. Most businesses are still only investing in the first one.
