@ChaosSupreme666@SimplyShae13 @HagenTrundle You can just look at the reports from the government! The FBI has great data on active shooters and it's actually different from the common conception.
@SteveGuest The teachers union is to advocate for teachers work conditions, which are largely set by the state. Seeing as the right seems insistent on defunding education, trying to get politicians elected that will not do that is probably worth more than $50m.
@ChaosSupreme666@SimplyShae13 @HagenTrundle Public mass shootings are already very rare crimes and I wouldn't expect them to heavily weigh heavily on violent crime rates for any demographic.
@ChaosSupreme666@SimplyShae13 @HagenTrundle "what is a mass shooting" is relevant to the the question of "who commits mass shootings".
Males commit violent crime at higher rates that females. Trans males commit non-sexual violent crime at lower rates that c*s men, and commit sexual crimes at about the same rate.
@McdougalSkip@SimplyShae13 @HagenTrundle Label them appropriately such that it's not representing the number of mass shootings and that's a fine additional data point.
A "potential mass shooter" that is arrested without ever firing a shot or leaving their home cannot be counted as a "mass shooting".
@SimplyShae13 @HagenTrundle SocDoneLeft posted this graph which uses the same standard! So if their methodoloy is better you could just cite how and why it's better.
When you actually tried to explain yourself elsewhere, you didn't control for population level at all.
@SimplyShae13 @HagenTrundle Okay, but the ones you gave were actually worse.
If you accept the FBI definition of mass shooting, are the population level stats for the given demographic groups accurate?
@SimplyShae13 @HagenTrundle An attempted mass murder is not the same as a murder. Counting it as a murder is clearly incorrect.

@SimplyShae13 @HagenTrundle You said OP was lying with statistics because you didnt like their definition of mass shooting (used by the government and has been tracked for many years) and didn't use your definition (which was created by a gun control ngo to increase the salience of their policy aims)
@SimplyShae13 @HagenTrundle If someone says "how many mass shootings have there been like sandy hook, columbine, and Vegas", if you answered 3000 that would be inaccurate because most of those are not like the named events.
@SimplyShae13 @HagenTrundle It's also harmful because it focuses policy attention on events that are unlike the vast majority of shootings causing misapplication of political capital.
@SimplyShae13 @HagenTrundle The FBI standard was used for years until other groups decided it wasn't broad enough. Should we count other crimes that didn't happen too?
Policy interventions to address public mass shootings are going to be different than gang shootings and domestic violence shootings.
@softboyvio I actually am pro gun. Our rights can only be removed by due process of law. Not by a doctors or bureaucrats fiat without any right to contest it.
@SimplyShae13 @HagenTrundle I would not be in the "general revenge against society by trying to killing as many people as possible" way, which is seen among people of many people that believe themselves to be marginalized.
The FBI standard is more accurate to what people mean when they say "mass shooting"
@SimplyShae13 @HagenTrundle I'd expect trans people to do less "kills their whole family", organized crime, or "shooting at a target & hitting other people" (majority of the 3000 "mass shootings"). Trans people are generally less likely to be violent in these ways. This is the number you provided.
