@AlienVib3@IrasReal Trust me no one is defending colonization haha. That is why there are no exceptions. No one is forgetting what imperial Europe and America did. But Japan’s hands aren’t clean either.
@AlienVib3@IrasReal Believe me I do. Colonization is bad which is why the Japanese COLONIZATION is not an exception. And you’re right, Japan did set the Philippines back several centuries by destroying historical buildings and murdering hundreds of thousands.
@AlienVib3@IrasReal If it makes you feel any better, Filipinos love Spain, the US, and Japan now. In varying degrees of course but yeah. Oh and if you’d like to learn more just let me know. I’m an actual historian.
@AlienVib3@IrasReal I’m not saying that Filipinos don’t “hate” the Spanish for what they did. But Filipinos know that their history is nuanced. There’s a reason why they still call the country the “Philippines” even after all these years.
@AlienVib3@IrasReal Ahm no. Filipinos SUCCESSFULLY ousted Spain. The Philippine Revolution of 1896 was the first successful anti-colonialist revolution in Asia. And yes I remember history and context. As a historian of Philippine history and anthropology, I should know.
@AlienVib3@IrasReal Why so? The Japanese massacred far more Filipinos in the three years they’ve colonized them than the 300 years of Spanish colonization. And they still have grandparents alive today to tell the horrors of what they endured during WW2 under the Japanese.
@dontperceived @aespiroka @LANGFORDPUGH Yeah. Ya’ll gotta be there to understand the power she held during the competition. Almost all the other girls wanted her to be in the group and she almost consistently ranked first on every elimination (which was voted by the fans)
@shadonbubble@1mbackhereagain And then what? For ya’ll to send the girls death threats and call them performative? The exact same way when Sophia gave her a shout out during another stage then getting absolutely dragged for it?
@DanitiaFarida@mickydabratz@manon_meret127 So no, it’s not about wanting her to have less lines. It’s about having balance. Unfortunately solo stans of the other members doesn’t have the same bandwidth and care for the group except for the betterment of their bias alone.
@DanitiaFarida@mickydabratz@manon_meret127 Which part of what I said had anything about wanting her to have less lines? SiS had 5 songs. 2 of it (Tonight I might, I’m pretty) Sophia had the most lines, then 2 (Debut, My way) she had the 2nd most number of lines. In Touch she was 3rd.
@DanitiaFarida@mickydabratz@manon_meret127 She also sang most of the choruses which puts her visibility much higher than the other members. Now, if this was a Sophia & friends typa group that’d be great. But no. We understood that for the group to work, there should be a balance in line distribution.
@mickydabratz@manon_meret127 The thing is we LOOOVE Manon. What we don’t get is the need to drag the other members? Can ya’ll direct this energy to the company? Aka the people that actually pulls the strings.
@mickydabratz@manon_meret127 Mind you she’s the star of SIS era but HAD TO be sidelined for the other members to get their moments. Sophia stans accepted it since they wanted the group to work. That means giving spotlight to the other girls as well. Meanwhile you solo stans never really cared about the group
@mickydabratz@manon_meret127 When Manon is being sidelined ya’ll cry racism but when it is being done to other members you call them irrelevant. How about ya’ll actually being the racists?
