My amazing family! These are my peeps who came out in force to support me in the @ParkinsonCanada Superwalk yesterday in Fredericton. With other fams we more than doubled fundraising to $18k! Take that PD!
This woman! My aunt Barbara Forestell is celebrating 60 years with the Sisters of Charity. In Saint John, Fredericton, British Columbia, and Peru, she has spent her life with the poor and disadvantaged, lighting the way for others. And she’s a wicked good bridge player too!
Like many NBers I had the good fortune to work at many public events where Her Honor @LTGOVNB presided with her husband Ronald. She radiated charm and bonhomie in equal measure and will be terribly missed by the province she served. RIP.
As we celebrate Black History Month and Jackie Robinson’s 100th birthday, we celebrate the life of all whose courage opened the gates for everybody, and in the process, made America better.
Impressed with Minister @ShephardDorothy handling of the devastating report on child neglect. No deflection. No insisting all is well. She owned it going forward, offered thoughts on directions for reform, agreed to be accountable. A human, rather than political, response.
17 years ago today we picked one of these up from Toronto East General. It was ok at first but when it started leaking, they wouldn’t take it back. The leaking has stopped, but now it makes this incessant noise. Still, we’re used to it and wouldn’t give it up! #happybirthdayPads
USA is destination for more than 90% of NB exports... we ignore it at our peril. Canada’s only advantage over US is that we understand them more than US understands us.
Coming up on @CBCNB we'll have full coverage of today's political drama- the defeat of the Gallant Liberal government; a big victory for the small community of Saint-Quentin; and a look at long-lost Saint john. We'll have all your New Brunswick news on CBC at 6.
Amen. “Democracy requires a functioning press that informs voters and creates a shared set of facts. If journalists are going to defend the integrity of their work, and the role it plays in sustaining democracy, we’re going to need to start fighting back”.
C’mon! Ask questions, find answers, tell stories! Get addicted to journalism. Aside from being called ‘an enemy of the people’, you’ll love it! Go @Aquinian
