There has been a lot of talk about #HurricaneIan being just like Charley. I really encourage you NOT to make that comparison. TL;DR= Places that normally don't flood WILL PROBABLY FLOOD, and you should plan accordingly.

Charley was intense and unpredictable, but it was a very SMALL and FAST MOVING storm. It was too small and fast to build a significant storm surge. All the forecast models are saying Ian will be LARGER and MUCH SLOWER. That makes this both a huge WIND and SURGE/FLOODING threat.
