Many high school students spend their time doing homework and stressing about upcoming exams.
16-year-old Cayden Brown does all that — and he works as a part-time juvenile defense attorney https://t.co/aNtGBwYWE7
We’ve spent the last year and a half designing, building, and testing tools that accelerate youth’s accessibility to their nations’ legal information across the planet. A few days ago, we received a share of $250,000 in grant funding, unlocking our ability to scale our operational infrastructure and deploy tech-enabled solutions to form this bridge with unmatched precision.
This moment is all thanks to our world-class team of innovators, global partners, translators, and volunteers who have devoted pieces of their lives and gifts to make this work possible.
We’re honored to share this capital with 29 other forward-thinking organizations, redesigning the world we leave for our children, with the help of The Skillman Foundation.

I flew to our nation’s capital to meet with leaders under @POTUS’s administration at the Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
I stood in rooms lined with protective detail, alongside federal officials, including the U.S. Attorney General, proposing national tactics to abate the incarceration of children in America.
On my final day, I addressed a plenary of nearly three thousand juvenile justice practitioners—representing fifty-two U.S. states and territories—bringing forth a message with the help of my global nonprofit ( @ProjectTrespass ): Youth deserve to be heard in the decisions that define our lives.
Grateful to the United States Department of Justice for inviting me to be part of this mission.

Spoke for Jalen Rose’s Leadership Academy students at the Give Merit Annual Fundraising Gala.
Thank you @JalenRose for providing me the platform to inspire the very generation that will soon command this nation.
After speaking before different audiences across the country, it was an honor to serve home again.
For today’s episode of the KYRC Podcast, Nicole Martin (@nicolelynn.esq), interviews 17-year-old Cayden Brown. Brown (@thecaydenbrown), a youth from Detroit, represents young people in court who have committed misdemeanors across Michigan.

One week ago, I was chosen as the youngest of five youth peace panelists from around the world to speak at the United Nations Headquarters.
All four of my grandparents—the last living generation born into the civil rights movement—were able to watch me carry their stories with me to dais of the world’s highest authority. While we are met with growing global unrest, I addressed nearly eight hundred people from over one hundred countries, including the President of the General Assembly (@UN_PGA), to magnify the necessity of including youth voices in global peacebuilding.
Thank you to the AFS and the Permanent Mission of Malta to the United Nations for conceiving this space and for giving our voices the highest possible platform.
