@SethBorman @fawfulfan I don’t think you understand MMT if you think we have been living MMT. MMT would not propose tax cuts knowing it’s inflationary. You have a govt that understands it has a sovereign currency and pretends through legisation it needs to balance the budget while ignoring inflation

@SethBorman @fawfulfan Goes w/o saying legislation that removes any real job demand that employs real people and also removes the ability to take money out of circulation (tax) is one of many reasons why inflation is rampant. Govt also chooses to pay interest for treasury bonds which cont to inflation

@SethBorman @fawfulfan We can chew gum & walk. There is no need to remove SS in order to solve inflation. 2 diff arg. You can fully fund SS while using other tools to fight inflation. 1 tool is tax. Another is legis that creates private sector demand for jobs that real people can do->spending/taxes

Can it be limited in application, yes but solely for one and only one thing…I don’t see that in reality. Offering counter point as I don’t know either of your backgrounds

I studied to be an engineer, received ME degree but leveraged the training and knowledge to be a Product Mgr. the degree states its for engineers but can be applied outside of it.
