@jamiljivani Hoppe argues that the right to private property is a valid, absolute principle of ethics. Land acknowledgments are part of an ideological delegitimization of settled private property, reinforcing high time preference politics that erode absolute rights for fleeting present gains
@Tablesalt13 I can't speak for every food bank but we volunteered at the Calgary Food Bank. It was nothing but Ukrainians and Indians abusing the system. A significant portion of them had decent cars, like I'm talking Audi's and BMWs pulling up
@lifewitsonduren Conservatives created loopholes in the TFW program before being ousted and Liberals took it beyond what anyone could have imagined. Until these parties are votes out, nothing will change
@CitImmCanada There is a notable discrepancy between the purported qualifications of the tradesmen and the actual execution of their work. I have encountered persistent inspection failures, as these multifamily projects are plagued by operational disarray and deficient structural integrity
@MarcScottEmery I am old enough to recall when the Conservative government, under Stephen Harper’s leadership, expanded the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, enabling employers to capitalize on low cost labor and effectively stagnate domestic wages
Despite the youth employment crisis, housing shortages, and rising violent crime, opposition Immigration shadow Minister @MichelleRempel opposes a legislative amendment that would allow the government to carry out mass deportations of temporary workers, international students, and permanent resident visa holders.
THE PEOPLE’S PARTY SUPPORTS MASS DEPORTATIONS
@CTVNews Canada would be well advised to model its deportation framework after Sweden’s approach. It was regrettable to witness Vonservative opposition when the Liberal government proposed the broad revocation of permanent residency statuses.
@007GoldMiner@WBrettWilson Agreed. While it feels quixotic, I have been a proponent of proportional representation. Having signed the AB Independence petition, I find QC’s approach commendable, they have recognized that a distinct, unified voice is infinitely more impactful than total marginalization
@RobertScott973 @BustinCider88 @JonFlynnREstats Yeah Ontario really screwed over homeowners. I don't know why anyone would want any to be a landlord with those socialist policies. You're still subject to rent being raised every 12 months with a few months notice, which can accumulate over time.
@RobertScott973 @BustinCider88 @JonFlynnREstats You could end up spending a million more on housing than home owners with no asset to show, investing helps. You are an anomaly, rent controlled provinces/states are limited and you're high income. Most people are better off owning financially and for private property rights
@007GoldMiner@WBrettWilson I don't think anyone disputes that. If the same parties and incentives stay in place, expecting a fundamental rebalance in favor of net contributor provinces is optimistic at best. You get what you vote for
@RobertScott973 @BustinCider88 @JonFlynnREstats To own an asset. Ultimately you'll have to rent until the day you die while their biggest expense will be eliminated in 25 years or sooner.
@RobertScott973@JonFlynnREstats I forgot Ontario, Quebec and BC are like that. It's in line with their socialist and welfare MO. Yeah I remember when they implemented that law several years ago and screwed property owners overnight.
@RobertScott973@JonFlynnREstats Not literally evicted. In Alberta they can choose not to renew a fixed term with no provided reason and then raise the rent
