A Kuki militant shouts "I'm happy! I'm happy!"in their dialect after filming the dead bodies of Meiteis they have killed and charred in a Meitei village.
What differene do you notice with the HOLOCAUST carried out by NAZIS??
@Bimol_Akoijam Any attempt to rationalize or downplay such heinous crimes, or subtly confess to such atrocities, exposes a profound dearth of empathy . Your hands who pretends to hold the bible and act according to the teachings are stained with the blood of the innocence forever .
@Bimol_Akoijam There exists a profound distinction between spontaneous mob violence and the cold-blooded atrocities involving hostage-taking, click pictures and deliberate slaughter. The latter constitutes an abhorrent and irrevocably reprehensible crime.
How can a nation with formidable military might turn a blind eye to the Kuki's ceaseless and boundless brutality, flagrantly violating every humanitarian and moral principle?
The recent interview of Lt. Gen. P.C. Nair (Retd), former DG of #AssamRifles, to a news channel alludes to the malaise that this oldest paramilitary force in the country suffers from and the utter lack of coordination of the security agencies, including the Union Armed forces, and their concomitant failure to rein in the 15 months old unprecedented violence in Manipur.
To cite one example, his versions on the recent escalation of violence in the state (starting on 1st September, 2024) is different from that of the State Police official statements clearly points to that sheer lack of coordination among the security forces and their consequent failure to rein in the 15 months long violence in Manipur. Contradicting the widely circulated reports, eyewitness accounts and official statements from the Home Department and State police, he seems to dismiss the claim that there were aerial assaults using rockets/missiles as well as weaponized drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Incidentally, one "Kuki" leader has admitted, rather boastfully, in the media, that they have used such weapons to attack civilians and security forces.
This interview of the former DG of Assam Rifles also reminds us that his version is of a man who once headed the paramilitary force sans its operational command - to the best of my knowledge, the operational command of the Assam Rifles does not rest with the DG of the Assam Rifle, a post Lt. Gen Nair (Retd.) was in charge till recently but it's with the regular army under the GOC 3 Corps.
This interview, unfortunately, comes to me as a PR exercise to cover up the failure to rein in the violence and reports of impropriety associated with Assam Rifles. Our generals and civilian officers must know that lack of trust deficit is an issue that we must tackle so that state institutions, including forces like Assam Rifles, are not harmed. Being defensive or seeking to deflect or cover up shortcomings helps no one.
It is also instructive that he says that the security forces can rein in the violence, quite obviously which has not been the case so far, but the ultimate solution is with the "people"! This is quite revealing as most of the security officers usually say that the ultimate solution lies with the political leadership or political executive! This reluctance to name the political executive is, to say the least, quite instructive to understand the what, how, why and wherefore of this prolonged violent crisis in the state of Manipur.

@Bimol_Akoijam Ironically, despite his commendable efforts, there exist individuals who persist in attempting to tarnish his reputation and undermine his credibility
@Bimol_Akoijam Prior to Oja's emergence, the significance of an MP's role was obscure; however, he has demonstrated that an MP's duty is to hold the government accountable and advocate for the people's interests. He has discharged his responsibilities with unimpeachable sincerity.
@Bimol_Akoijam Oja is singularly dispelling all the falsehoods and misinformation perpetuated by the media, steadfastly maintaining a neutral stance and adhering to rational discourse. With unwavering dedication, he has been tirelessly updating himself to counter the media's narratives.
The dichotomy is appalling - amidst the relentless 18-month bloodshed in Manipur “with missile bombardments”& “fathers being mercilessly killed before their daughters' eyes”, the Indian state's silence is deafening, yet they swiftly offer solace to Ukraine's crisis.
Ours is a functioning democracy with a Constitution rooted in liberal principles to protect and promote life and liberty, of its citizens. Besides, we are a mighty country with the fifth largest economy and fourth in military strength in the world.
And yet, for 16 months, we have failed as a country to protect the life and liberty of our own fellow citizens in Manipur, the 19th State of the Union. Even as I write this, the violence continues.
Incidentally, an international (UN) norm called "The Responsibility to Protect (R2P)" says: "If a state is manifestly failing to protect its populations, the international community must be prepared to take appropriate collective action, in a timely and decisive manner and in accordance with the UN Charter."
When the people in Manipur suffer, it should not be treated as a joke or a spectacle!

Grieving mothers were subjected to humiliating treatment by the AR Commandant.
For years, Indian soldiers have perpetrated appalling atrocities against us marked by brutality, leaving us to endure unimaginable horrors.
I won't be swayed by their narratives of their heroism.
The recent drone attack, which resulted in the tragic loss of a woman's life just two days ago, has left us shaken, and now, we are faced with the dire news of yet another assault by #KukiMilitant through aerial bombing.
This report reminds me of the fact that one of the main features of the 15 months old crisis in Manipur is the conduct of the media - the ways they have reported and responded to the crisis. I have no doubt that those were, to put it mildly, less than desirable (For a systematic analysis of it, see, https://t.co/9uC9FTHkKV).
When mainstream media cannot maintain the professional standards, and becomes a part of the cacophony on social media or disinformation campaign, democracy and civilized order gets jeopardized!
Just as people deserve to have authentic news, concerned officials must not allow information vacuum to exist either. As far as possible, people must also wait for the legitimate authorities to provide the accurate information before they jump into conclusion.
This being the case, Manipur police and the Home Department (GoM) ought to have used the expression "suspected Kuki militants" rather than "alleged Kuki militants" or "reportedly by the Kuki militants". That would have communicated the official ownership of the assessment of who did the criminal act.

#Kuki_Terrorists launched bombs from drones, killing a mother and injuring other people, including police personnel, from constant strikes in the perimeter region near to Kuki areas. Protect us from #KukiWarCrimes.
