The Jews of South Carolina from the Earliest Settlement to the End of the American Revolution (1904) Leon Hühner

By the time of the American Revolution, Charleston was home to the largest Jewish community in North America. Jewish merchants owned ships, financed trade across the Atlantic, acquired vast tracts of frontier land, held political office, served in the Revolution, and participated in one of the wealthiest slave-based economies in the British colonies.

That is the picture Leon Hühner reconstructs in The Jews of South Carolina from the Earliest Settlement to the End of the American Revolution (1904), using land records, family papers, colonial documents, shipping records, legislative records, and contemporary correspondence.

One of the most surprising facts in the book is how quickly Charleston became a center of Jewish life. South Carolina’s charter granted unusual religious freedom for the period, explicitly extending liberty of conscience to Jews. As a result, Sephardic Jewish merchants and families established themselves in Charleston, and by the late colonial period the city had become the largest Jewish center in North America.

Hühner’s research reveals a community deeply integrated into the colony’s economic life. These were not isolated religious minorities living on the margins. They were merchants, traders, landowners, financiers, plantation owners, and political figures operating within the same commercial networks that connected Charleston to London, the Caribbean, Europe, and the rest of the Atlantic world. Charleston itself grew wealthy through shipping, rice, indigo, and slave-based agriculture, and Jewish families participated alongside other successful colonists in those systems.

One of the most startling stories concerns the Salvador family. The wealthy Sephardic Salvadors purchased approximately 200,000 acres of frontier land in what became the Ninety-Six District of South Carolina. Their goal was partly philanthropic: creating opportunities for other Sephardic Jews to settle in the New World. The area became so closely associated with these settlers that it was at one time known as “Jews Land.”

The most famous member of the family was Francis Salvador, who became one of the highest-ranking Jews in colonial politics. Hühner documents his election to South Carolina’s Provincial Congress, making him one of the most prominent Jewish political figures in Revolutionary America. In 1776, Salvador was killed during fighting on the frontier, becoming one of the first Jewish casualties of the American Revolution.

Another shocking aspect of Hühner’s work is how clearly it places Charleston’s Jewish merchants within the Atlantic commercial system. Many of the colony’s wealthiest merchants traded throughout the Caribbean and British Atlantic world. Their fortunes were tied to shipping, imports, exports, credit networks, plantations, and the broader economy of the South Carolina Lowcountry. Charleston itself was one of the most important slave-trading ports in North America, and the wealth that flowed through the city was inseparable from plantation agriculture and enslaved labor.

Perhaps the most surprising element of Hühner’s work is not any single individual but the overall picture that emerges. The records show Jewish settlers acquiring enormous landholdings, building merchant empires, participating in frontier settlement, serving in revolutionary governments, fighting in the Revolution, and operating within one of the wealthiest plantation economies in colonial America.

What makes the book so fascinating is that it relies on the surviving paper trail rather than later interpretations. The result is a picture of colonial Charleston that many readers have never encountered.

Abraham Lincoln and the Rothschilds: The Real Cause of the Civil War

One of the most controversial and difficult-to-find Civil War conspiracy pieces ever published, this short work originated as two articles printed in Social Justice in February 1940. In just a few dozen pages, Coughlin presented a dramatic alternative narrative of the Civil War, arguing that the conflict was not primarily about slavery but was driven by international financial interests seeking profit, debt, and control.

President Abraham Lincoln challenged powerful banking interests when his administration issued hundreds of millions of dollars in government-backed “greenbacks” during the war rather than relying entirely on private lenders. Coughlin claimed this threatened the profits and influence of major European financiers, particularly the Rothschild family, and he cited an alleged 1863 letter warning that government-issued money could undermine the existing financial order. The pamphlet presents Lincoln’s monetary policies as the true source of conflict between the administration and international banking interests.

The book goes further, connecting these financial disputes to Lincoln’s assassination. It argues that powerful forces had a motive to remove a president who demonstrated that a government could finance itself without becoming dependent on private banking interests. Later reprints expanded the narrative with discussions of John Wilkes Booth, Lincoln’s ancestry, and other controversial subjects.

What makes it especially provocative is its focus on details that have fueled speculation for generations: the missing pages from Booth’s diary, the decision to try the accused conspirators before a military tribunal rather than a civilian court, the remarkable security failures that allowed Booth access to Lincoln, the disputed evidence against some defendants, and lingering questions about whether every participant in the conspiracy was ever identified. Coughlin presents these events as pieces of a larger hidden story involving finance, politics, and power.

He also highlights the little-known arrival of Russian naval fleets in New York and San Francisco during the Civil War, portraying Alexander II of Russia as an ally of the Union who allegedly helped deter foreign intervention at a critical moment in the conflict.

Whether viewed as a forgotten piece of political literature, a controversial monetary critique, or a classic example of twentieth century conspiracy writing, the pamphlet remains one of the most direct attempts to connect Lincoln, the Civil War, international banking, and the assassination into a single overarching narrative.

Nearly a century after its publication, it continues to circulate among collectors of rare and controversial historical works, ensuring that the debate surrounding its claims has never entirely disappeared.

This is, bar none, the worst thing I have ever read. I have known about the Rape Gangs longer than a lot of americans, but even I did not grasp the scope or scale of what went on. Forget about Epstein, this was a crime against humanity on the scale of the Holocaust, of the Khmer Rouge, or of the lsraeIi atrocities in Gaza.

This was the systematic, intentional, targeted kidnapping, rape, torture and murder of White, Christian girls in England, specifically chosen due to their race and religion.

11 year olds had their vaginal walls used as bottle openers, and were then forced to consume the alcohol. Girls were raped with car keys and and baseball bats. 12 year olds with whiskey bottles inserted into their anus and smashed. Pre-teens raped by dogs.

The NHS is complicit. The British police is complicit. Damn near every single british politician over the past thirty years is complicit. The media is complicit. Anyone who ran cover for this must be put to death following a tribunal.

Nothing short of the public executions of tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of people, followed by the deportation of millions more is sufficient. Nothing will provide justice; that is the scale of the action required to merely get this to stop.
