SILENT SONGS OF THE LILY
There is something about poetry that gives a person the ability to exist outside of life long enough to still make no sense out of it.

I got custody of my little sister when she was 14. She’s 24 now. Yesterday she texted me,
“Check your bank. And don’t argue.” 😭
I opened it… and she sent money for groceries.
Said, “Buy something nice too. Not just bills.”
Ever since she started working, she randomly sends rice deliveries to the house, pays the internet before I even notice it’s due, shows up with takeout on nights she knows I’m tired.
I never ask. I don’t expect it. She just does it.
Last week I saw her fixing the electric fan for our younger cousins, teaching them how to budget their allowance, moving through life like someone who learned responsibility early.
And she did. Because we grew up together. Two kids pretending to be strong. Two kids figuring it out without a manual.
So let me applaud us quietly. I was a teenager playing parent. She was a child forced to grow up fast. But somehow… we didn’t break. We built something. And we made it.
@loynox Many Nigerians can not afford safe housing, travel and exploration, good health care… and your excitement is that we are buying food!
Make we die? @loynox
@loynox Do you understand why it’s food that constitutes the bulk of this metric?
We are on survival mood. Food is the biggest commodity now not because everybody has to eat but because it’s the only commodity the people can still afford. We can’t afford security, good education etc
@ServicePolicing@ambitiousGunner @Maloja_MO @legal_padi@loynox here is someone so desperate to avoid doing the work. It’s so easy to blame something so ambiguous as “corruption”
You just throw the corruption card and suddenly the steps in the right direction is no longer your journey as a citizen. People like you don’t deserve citizenship.
@Somylin1 @Solomon_Buchi Exactly! The more you interact with the smarter it gets. And because it’s a language model you really have to get your semantics right.
@AyoBankole Are you farming engagement or are you serious? Except that money wash just being laundered there is no way in hell it happens like that.
$1million is over N1billion. Even if they paid 100 staff N1million per month, 2 yrs that money still remain.
Say their name Abeg!
