This has just proved to the world that we are a much better team than Arsenal. We used our Team B against Brighton, took the game to a penalty shootout, and won.
Meanwhile, Arsenal brought on their first 11 players in the second half and still lost to a 4th-division insecticide.
The difference in standards is obvious.
I thought Cherki was outstanding throughout the game. Don't understand the noise, tbh. Created the most chances. Took more shots than anyone else up front. Grew into the game really well.
Doku came on and gave us the attacking incision and momentum just when it dipped after Bouaddi was subbed off.
We really struggled to keep the ball in those 17 minutes of the second half and were really poor OOP, but he helped us pin them back and probe. Cherki/Foden were brilliant at that once we got the chance to go forward.
On Saturday we need to be good at:
1) the way we press
2) our rest defence
3) taking our chances
Bouaddi (a must), Reis and Rulli are the players I'd start against them on Saturday. Anderson, Haaland and Matheus Nunes coming back will be huge for us. I'm optimistic we'll do well.
