We’re hiring Video Editors at VenCuts Media.
Finding a great editor is honestly harder than finding a great partner.
I’ve been lucky enough to find a few great people along the way and those people played a huge role in helping us scale VenCuts Media to where we are today.
Now, we’re entering our next phase.
VenCuts Media is a content marketing company focused on helping creators and founders build their personal brands through storytelling, editing, motion graphics and visual content.
And we’re expanding our team.
We’re hiring:
• Senior Video Editors 2+ years experience
• Junior Video Editors
• Video Editing Interns
Depending on the role, we have full-time, hybrid and remote opportunities.
But here’s the thing.
I’m not looking for someone who just knows how to cut clips.
I’m looking for editors who understand:
→ Storytelling
→ Pacing
→ Visual hierarchy
→ Motion graphics
→ Context
→ Visual evidence
→ Asset hunting
→ Talking-head content
→ Podcasts
→ Founder/creator content
→ How content actually performs
Someone who can take a script, understand the story, find the right visual evidence, animate the UI, source the assets and turn it into something people actually want to watch.
For senior editors especially, I’m looking for people who can own the edit from start to finish.
No constant hand-holding.
No waiting for someone to tell you what to do.
No “I couldn’t do it because…” every time something gets difficult.
I want to work with the 1% of editors who treat editing as a creative craft, not a side hustle.
If you’re that person, I’d genuinely love to see your work.
If you’re applying, please make sure you:
• Have a strong portfolio
• Can work with Premiere Pro + After Effects
• Know DaVinci Resolve if you work with cinematic edits
• Understand storytelling and pacing
• Can work within deadlines
• Take ownership of your work
• Have a good eye for design and visual storytelling
• Can handle feedback without needing to be micromanaged
Compensation will be based on your skill, experience and role.
You can mention your expected compensation in the application.
If your work matches what we’re looking for, we’ll reach out.
I’ve added reference videos and the application form below.
Watch the references before applying.
If you look at them and think,
“Yeah, I can make this.”
You should probably apply.
If not, save both of us some time. :)
Drop your works in the comments
Have you ever experienced you feel empty ?
Have you ever experienced loneliness?
Have you ever experienced you crying on your bed for straight 3 hours ?
Yes I do.
But yeah.
I have to go work tomorrow..
Good night. Aahhhh..
I mean..
Good morning ..
Coz it is 5:22 am
after talking to an editing team based in india for the last week for content w @sideshift_app here are my 2 biggest learnings:
1) bro is said at the end of every sentence - this signals respect and casualness (funny because in the us its sometimes viewed in a negative light)
2) indians are super punctual with their punctuations (pun not intended)
- .. at the end to signal less formality
- a ? always has a space in between the last word (ik some of my friends do this i still don't get this)
- ?? for a question they feel strongly about
maybe the lesson here is to be more chalant like the indians
everyone is so nonchalant over text in america
Nothing in this world comes for free.
Either it is prepaid or postpaid.
Sometimes both.
But postpaid costs more than prepaid.
Read it 3 times you will open 5 different perspectives..
