We made it extremely easy to do manual work, remotely.

When founding @AvatarRobots, I wanted to give everyone the opportunity to make a living, safely and comfortably, no matter where they are in the world.

That meant building a virtual solution for manual work, for which many jobs are still very tedious, dangerous, and physically demanding.

Now we’ve let @neevefrat into our HQ to explore a new world of “teleoperation” that we’re building at Avatar.

We make manual jobs more like a video game that you can play from anywhere in the world.

The data we collect from teleoperating robots in real work settings, allows us to automate each process and further scale the impact of each worker.

The hybrid solution, with teleoperators and intelligent robots, gets more capable, and more fun, every day.

Last winter at Avatar Robotics, we launched our first product, with the hopes of changing manual work forever.

Today, I’m excited to share our progress on real production floors. Avatar has packed, sorted, and help ship over 700,000 products.

We are on track to handle over 1 million items this year, ranging from beauty products, to sporting goods, supplements, clothes, jewelry, coffee, and more. Your latest purchase may have been shipped by a humanoid.

When I was an engineer at General Motors, I got glimpse into a huge problem that the U.S. now faces: we don’t have enough people to do our critical factory and warehouse work.

Over 1,000,000 industrial jobs sit unfilled in America. It’s hampering our businesses, it’s driving up costs of goods, and it’s jeopardizing U.S. positioning as a leading industrial powerhouse.

Robots have potential to solve this problem, but current models aren’t smart enough to handle the complexities of real, production work. It’s not enough to show that a robot can demo a task a handful of times. Real work requires excellent performance on thousands of actions per day, with constantly changing variables. No one has solved this well.

And so we created Avatar.

Avatar combines humanoid robots, remote operator teammates, and a growing autonomy pipeline into one always-on workforce. We deploy new workflows within minutes, adapt to changes, and run 24/7.
