In Maths this week, Year 8 have been learning how to find the fraction of an amount. Pupils did not use calculators this week, so they were relying on their own knowledge of times tables to help them to answer their questions. Well done Cassiopeia Class some great learning. ✖️🟰

This week, Delphinus class have been continuing to read their class book ‘Shackleton's Journey'. They looked at the crew members and created our own character profiles of our favourite one. Some great work, well done. 📚✏️

In Science this week, Year 10 class have been completing their investigation into the rate of decay in milk. This is a required practical needed for the GCSE exam paper 1 and 2. Well done Aquila class. 🧫🧪🥼

In Design and Technology this week, Year 9 have learnt about alternative finishes that could be applied to timber. They completed manufacturing the boat and applied varnish onto it. Amazing work Libra class, well done. 🪚

This week in our Secondary Cooking lessons, the pupils made burgers from scratch. This was very interesting for some of the pupil's as they could actually see what burgers are made of and how they can be made and formed so easily. Well done all of you 🍔

We were joined by #SmallSteps this week who delivered an amazing workshop to our secondary pupils on the dangers of being groomed by extremist groups online. They learnt about how they use gaming platforms to groom children and how they can keep safe online. 🎮

The Compass School really know how to celebrate #WorldBookDay. All classes decorated a door in their classroom based on a book, dressed up as their favoured book character (if they wanted to) and even decorated a potato as a character from a book. What a way to enjoy reading. 📚

To celebrate #WorldBookDay the staff took part in a quiz for the pupils called The Masked Reader. The pupils had to guess who was behind the mask, reading their favourite book. Can you guess who they are? 📚🎭

What an amazing assembly from @paulhannaford Our secondary pupils learnt about the realities of #drugaddiction #knifecrime and #CountyLines. A truly inspirational talk that was so real. Our pupils were impeccably behaved and engaged so well. Thank you visiting us Paul 🙌

Wow! What an absolutely amazing transition morning we had. We are so proud of each and everyone of our pupils, both current and new. Your bravery and maturity despite facing all of the changes today was commendable. We cannot wait to grow our school with you all. 👏
