Being in the 7th grade, with a copy of the 5th edition rule book and a IPod loaded with the Dawn of War 2 OST, flipping through the pages and seeing all of John’s work is what made me a 40K fan. The man defined Grim Dark.
@thefatspaceman@Psychic_Driving Not just Queer, but outwardly MtF during the 70s/80s. Jeffery Catherine Jones is perhaps the only artist anyone could ever claim was as good as Frank Frazetta. Their comic work is only dwarfed by their excellent body of paintings.
@agraybee Boba fett was a guy with a cool job and cool armour and zero character. But George saw fans like him and had all this EU stuff so that not only did writers create an entire CIVILIZATION of Boba fetts, but George made it so the clones in the “clone wars” are all Boba fetts.

@deathink I never really traced; I did try to draw characters from shows but at a certain point I thought they all sucked so I just drew my own original stuff because no one could say it was “inaccurate.” A mindset I’ve kept onto since, really.
