That's a perfectly valid qualifier that differentiates how he 'beat' the game from how you or I might have 'beaten' it. 'Beating' it in this context obviously just means getting to the credits

Cyberpunk 2077. Once I got over how pretty it looked, I realised I wasn't enjoying the characters, the story, or the gameplay. Abandoned it about 20-ish hours in, no desire to go back.
