The U.S. has finalized a major rollback of the Endangered Species Act.
One of America’s most successful conservation laws, credited with helping recover the bald eagle, gray wolf, and many other species, is being significantly weakened.
The new rule removes habitat destruction from the legal definition of “harm” to an endangered species. This could make it easier for logging, mining, and development to damage the habitats that threatened and endangered wildlife depend on.
Weakening these safeguards affects not only wildlife. It threatens ecosystems that provide clean water, carbon storage, flood protection, and biodiversity.
The ESA has been a cornerstone of U.S. conservation for more than 50 years. Rolling back habitat protections risks reversing decades of progress while nature is already under immense pressure.
You cannot protect endangered species if the habitats they depend on are no longer protected.

I'm a bit late to the Neil party. I was tied-up finishing commissions while he was busy smashing traffic cones. But after many requests, I had to (very happily) oblige.
Meet Neil the Seal ⚓️ I'm a tad smitten.

i will say lindsey graham being asked by a reporter how mitch mcconnell is doing, answering “i don’t know, i’m going to check right now” and then dying is hilarious
it’s that magical time of year when every australian government takes credit for a pay rise mandated by the fair work commission to keep up with inflation
The Law Enforcement Conduct Commission (LECC) has directed the NSW Police Commissioner to investigate allegations of misconduct following reports of over-policing at LGBTQIA+ venues on Sydney’s Oxford Street earlier this month.

Department has justified not paying their "lived experience panel" because "being on the panel does not automatically involve any effort or participation"??
We are taking tokenism to thrilling new heights
(You also can't use the panel to meet mutual obligation requirements)
I've seen reports that job providers are already using AI without Departmental approval.
Here's a Sarina Russo worker saying staff who don't use AI "will receive a warning and eventually be terminated"
Gotta love Grace Tame’s response to Charlie Pickering’s attack, well said & all correct.
“Charlie Pickering made a direct choice to cosy up to a man found guilty of abusing his wife, while denouncing me as ignorant. Surely I needn’t point out the irony here.”🔥 #auspol
"Will the new model still allow providers to claim outcome payments for employment that the job seeker found independently?"
"We would see job outcome payments continuing to be a feature"
fraud, rorting, and exploitation of the poor WILL and MUST continue!
This Melbourne landlord sent a rent increase notice blaming taxation changes that have no effect on his empire of investment properties and I reckon these parasites should have all of their wealth expropriated not just taxed a little bit one day when they decide to sell

Honest, for the way this game is going Fate would have been a better system than Vampire. None of the intrinsic battle against the beast/inhumanity. More specific concepts as abilities #citycouncilofdarkness
