Y'all, I finally gave my website the professional overhaul it's been waiting for. Several years of wanting to, several months of thinking about it, and just about a month of work and customization using all my youthful CSS skills. Go check it out at https://t.co/uM6zwaUKPi!
I'm truly the lurkiest lurker on Twitter/X these days, but I'm so proud to share that I have a new short story up in @JoylandMagazine today <3 Thank you to @kundimanforever for the collaboration, thank you to editor Laura Chow Reeve, & thank you to all who choose to read!
"She surprises herself with the strength of her conviction. It is the first decision she has made for herself, uncluttered by obligation."

@mdbell79 It's ok! We went to another brilliant panel, but the friend I was with felt a little bummed not to get ~deep in the sentence discourse~, so I hope these handouts will salvage some of it :)
Writers: can anyone point me to where Entropy Magazine is archived? Or if it's even still accessible online? I had a piece published there that I wanted to link to for an application, but I'm not sure it even exists online anymore 🙃
I guess the only way I can write right now is to make bolognese and be forced to sit near a simmering stove to stir it every 30 min for 3+ hours... metaphorically chained to my desk here.
Looking forward to this in-person event on October 21st at 6:30pm. Join Jennifer Perrine and myself @literaryarts for a Kundiman Reading Salon. Theme: Burden, Bliss, Balance. @kundimanforever Thank you to @sadbrowngrl@thecowation & Shankar Narayan! https://t.co/YdZyRbdtHR
So excited to be leaving for California on Saturday for the Mendocino Coast Writer's Conference!! Taking a week-long road trip to see friends before I arrive to play with memoir in Faith Adiele's master class 💜 Say hi, cuties! @MCWConf
@jej_sen Not me, but a close friend had this scenario and continued to be negative. It's kind of a mystery, but possible that they were immune from a prior exposure and stayed asymptomatic through that so never tested +. Or viruses are just weird.
Hey friends! If you're near Seattle, come join @kundimanforever PNW chapter for a very special irl showcase of Asian American writers next Tuesday (5/10) at 7pm @HugoHouse. It's free and our first in-person event since... well, you know. 💜💜

Very belated retweet of a piece I wrote for the Department of Neighborhoods on using the phases of trauma healing towards reimagining our city 💜💜 Thank you for this space and prompt!
Queer, Bangladeshi-American writer, performer, and therapist, Jordan Alam discusses how the collective trauma of the present resurfaces wounds from the past and the phases that should be established to work through it all. #ReimagineSeattle@thecowation

“I deeply believe that no future is possible without healing the trauma of the past.”
—Jordan Alam (@thecowation), who is teaching an 8-week prose workshop in February on how to write intergenerational narratives!

@mag_gabbert This is an unbelievably relatable statement. I had this grand plan for editing thru my novel manuscript this year and then homebuying in a major US city just ...took it away.
Also, someone tell me why I can never write sequentially. Every document has a slightly different version of the same section and I'm face palming every time I open another one...
All these amazing submission periods opening up and I'm over here reordering 11ty million Word docs of novel revisions... Maybe I'll get back to short pieces in 2023 😱
