Currently, no one can use the #send or #swap features, so no one can send any funds out of their #tangem wallets.

TWO ARRESTED IN $73M 'PIG BUTCHERING' CRYPTO LAUNDERING SCHEME

- Daren Li and Yicheng Zhang were arrested for allegedly laundering over $73 million through U.S. financial institutions, converting the funds into $USDT.

- The DOJ revealed that Li and Zhang were part of an international syndicate involved in "pig butchering" scams, which involve gaining victims' trust and then stealing their money.

- Victims' funds were laundered through U.S. bank accounts, transferred to accounts in The Bahamas, and converted to $USDT. A cryptocurrency wallet linked to the scheme received over $341 million in virtual assets.

- Li and Zhang face charges of conspiracy to commit money laundering and six counts of international money laundering, each carrying a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.

- Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco emphasized that despite the borderless nature of cryptocurrency fraud, law enforcement can still reach and prosecute perpetrators.

- The indictment, unsealed in a California court, outlines the sophisticated laundering process and the international scope of the fraudulent activities.
