Dear 🇬🇧,
You are so ridiculously lucky to have the NHS. Protect it. Defend it. Never stop fighting for it. Because this is the reality of medical debt in my country and if you’re not careful, this could soon be your reality too.

Philip Duffy CEO of the @EnvAgency signs off on the EA pension fund making a £37,063,000 investment in, wait for it, wait for it, yes; water companies!
You read that right. The EA has invested £37 million in the very companies it's supposed to police. 🤬

We crunched the numbers from government spend records. And if these figures are correct, the total handed out to Tory friends and supporters through the VIP lane for useless PPE that has not been recovered stands at a staggering £979m 🤯

Rachel Reeves' plans to slash public spending and investment on the basis that Britain is ‘broke’ is a rehash of the exact rhetoric that gave us 14 years of Tory austerity, writes @graceblakeley. https://t.co/OFsW37yFBS
Rachel Reeves paves way for cuts and tax rises.
Cuts are a political choice. Won't help revive the economy.
Eliminate tax perks of the rich.
Tax capital gains and dividends at same rate as wages and charge NIC.
Wealth taxes.
Financial transactions tax.

"I think it's fanciful for us to be in a situation of saying the NHS doesn't need more money"
@UniteSharon👏👏👏 #Panorama
🇫🇷 France spends £40 billion more per year than us on its health service
🇩🇪Germany spends £73 billion more per year

Returning the NHS to a fully Public Service without Privatisation wasn't in the King's Speech even though 80% of people want it.
RT if it should have been.
Renters will be relieved by #KingsSpeech pledge to end #NoFaultEvictions, however:
1. We've heard this promise before. I hope this Govt can get it over the line and not listen to landlords who want it watered down
2. A strong #RentersReformBill should include #RentControls too
Landlord just wrote to us saying they are increasing our rent by 20% at the end of the tenancy. As such I'm going to likely be forced to move for the second time this year.
Would the Labour government kindly do something so that private renters aren't living in hell?
Some great news to announce today - our deal to buy 67 affordable homes worth £9.45 million, transforming lives in the process. They will be made available at affordable rents for local families from the district who are on our housing waiting list. More: https://t.co/UP6BR8BvVT
Spend three minutes watching this man talk in a humane, evidence-based way about penal policy. Then realise that he is now in charge of prisons. And then feel the waves of relief wash over you.
@implausibleblog Maybe 'tax' were renamed 'social contribution', people would start to understand why we need to pay it to fund the things we need. It's when people avoid paying it that it becomes a problem.
In America, 1 in 4 cancer patients declared bankruptcy or lost their homes to eviction or foreclosure in 2022, while 42% deplete their life savings within 2 years.
This is insane and unspeakable. Getting cancer should not cause bankruptcy. We must cancel medical debt.
Not one word about @TheGreenParty and its unprecedented, dramatic results. The BBC can't get enough of Farage, but simply blanks the most progressive force in UK politics.
💙 Happy 76th Birthday NHS 💙
You have been ripped apart these last 14 years
An NHS that was established by Aneurin Bevan on 5 July 1948 with three core principles at its heart:
1) That it meet the needs of everyone
2) That it be free at the point of delivery
3) That it be based on clinical need, not ability to pay
We finally have hope that you can be built up again…
Please don’t let us down Labour
🔵Reform won four seats.
🟢The Greens won four seats.
This graphic shows the four Reform seats. The four Green seats are lumped in with ‘other’.
It has begun. There will be more. Call it out when you see it.
Give the Greens the platform they have earned.
