Refreshing to hear Kyle Shanahan give candid assessment as to why the 49ers ultimately fell short last season regardless of over performing

Clearly the lack of offseason moves and roster shedding exercises impacted the team on the defensive side of the ball immensely, a concept that I mentioned when analyzing the team this offseason that was met with surprising push back by even some who cover the team. It was crystal clear to see that not reloading the roster had a significant impact on the defensive side of the ball

Also hearing his honest assessment of the run game or lack thereof shines even more light on how one dimensional the offense was and how it put a ton of extra pressure of the QBs/passing game to carry the load which makes there offensive success that much more remarkable

The 49ers responded by having an extremely solid offseason both in free agency and the draft, my only hesitation is that they are returning the same offensive line just with a bigger question at LG and did not address the Safety position
