@Tirame001@zomoreno@NBCLA I don't think he has brought status quo. I also have reasonable expectations of how much a single politician can change within a city in a very short span of time.
@Tirame001@zomoreno@NBCLA What monumental changes do you expect a mayor to achieve in 4 years? Most policies or projects that a mayor or really any politician manages to implement, see results play out years down the line.
@Tirame001@zomoreno@NBCLA That's on you.
It would take about 30 seconds of googling to find out some of the things he accomplished as mayor.
Here's a starting point for the lazy - https://t.co/IYwtf2JNrM
@zomoreno@Tirame001@NBCLA The fact that people have brought up the painted crosswalks so much over the years is really bizarre. It's always felt like a dog whistle to me.
@Loco4LongBeach@RobertGarcia You aren’t really trying to have a dialogue about crime in LB though. You were accusing the mayor of letting the city down because he was out of town when a crime happened.
@Loco4LongBeach@RobertGarcia Also have you ever looked at crime data in recent years vs the 80’s and 90’s. Long Beach is so much safer than it was. A recent uptick isn’t some huge cause for alarm or proof that our officials are failing us.
@Loco4LongBeach@RobertGarcia No I make a good point under any circumstances. A mayor leaving town for a brief trip doesn’t make the city more vulnerable to an act of violence.
You’ve chosen to connect two unrelated things to take a lame pot shot.
@Loco4LongBeach@RobertGarcia Crime exists everywhere. It always will.
Elected officials will spend time trying to tackle it. But they also have to spend time addressing other issues, locally and nationally.
The idea that he’s letting the city down by not being present when a shooting occurs is ridiculous.
@JBay_31 @____b___22@geoffschwartz@BarstoolBigCat Yeah an indication that his drives were just for appearance. You could see it watching on tv. He was never driving to score or put real pressure on defense. It was just going through the motions and kicking out to a shooter. If the shooters missed. Lebron is absolved of blame.
@JBay_31 @____b___22@geoffschwartz@BarstoolBigCat For real. Anyone who watched the game last night saw how Lebron played passive. No force on offense. Passive. Half assed drive and kicks. On defense he was getting blown by dudes like Cameron Payne.
@Oshosi120 @gucci_guw0p @mattj_lawrence@ltsCamo@BarstoolBigCat He played on par with many of his teammates. He had 7 points at halftime. He played passive as hell. Sure he outperformed something of his teammates. And he stat padded in the 3rd quarter. But overall the point is a good one. Lebron stunk, just like his teammates stunk.
@james1_steve@RCasparriello@ryenarussillo KG’s knee left those championships on the table. He was never the same after the 2009 injury.
The recent core never had an MVP level player. Almost every championship team in the last 40 years has been built around an MVP winner.
@rosenhayn @MBTruth34 @ryenarussillo Red had a 3 time MVP for that span. Ainge had a healthy KG for one season. Then he blew out his knee in 2009 and was never quite the same. Had KG not injured himself, there might have been 2-3 championships under Ainge.
@CozyJayke @phoniksbeats@wojespn Al Jefferson was one of the best young bigs in the league. The Wolves also got their own lottery pick back in the trade. They had a chance to draft Steph Curry with that pick. If they draft Curry the trade looks way different in retrospect. It’s not Ainge’s fault they blew it.
@MemeSupremeX @n4tefromboston @fchwpoh@BostonCelts4eva He wasn’t 39. By 39 he was out of the league after two season in Miami. He literally never played an NBA game as a 39 year old.
@rikijohns@NatalieSuB@elainesz@aubrey_huff .026% of the US population is 83,200. We have already blown way past that number. The entire infographic is total bullshit.
1% is 3.2 million Americans
.1% is 320k Americans
