Martin suffered a severe brain injury after his vehicle was hit by an IED in Iraq.

Thanks to a Blesma grant, the veteran recently went sit skiing.

“We started off at an indoor ski slope and Ed just took to it. Blesma funded a trip for him in 2019 but we couldn’t go because of the pandemic, so it was great that Blesma stepped in again to support him and get him back out on the snow in January"

Mark was diagnosed with PTSD following an incident in Iraq in 2003 in which he lost the sight in his right eye after an explosion.

"Gardening got me doing something. I didn’t want to socialise because of my PTSD, but I was able to potter in the garden"

Then he sadly lost over 5,000 plants in a fire in his polytunnel.

With #Blesma's support, he received new polytunnels and continues to turn his passion into a community charity, uplifting others and improving his mental health. 💚🌼
