@RadioFreeTom As a former Army NCO, I never met an O-4/Major who wasn't a condescending prick. Maybe just the nature of the roles they get assigned (staff positions like Battalion XO, etc.), but I never met a Major who wasn't a miserable SOB. Met some cool colonels though (Lt and full-bird).

@West1042 @ClaytonBurnsPhD @keithedwards As former Army (non-combat MOS), during annual rifle qualification, I could pretty consistently hit a target from a prone position at 300 meters (~= to yards) with a zeroed in M16A2 with iron sights. A rifle with optics at 200 yards wouldn't require a "trained/pro sharpshooter".

@RadioFreeTom I was born in 1982. Around the time I was 6 and could ride a bike with the neighborhood kids, we weren't kicked out/locked out, but we basically stayed out until dark. Maybe we'd come in for a short time to cool off (Deep South), play Nintendo, and eat something/rehydrate.

@ArmandDoma I'm a Xennial in that 40-49 bracket. I wasn't GenX, but I grew up as a pre-teen/teen in the grunge era. GenX always seemed to have a pretty nihilistic "I don't care, fuck the world, and I'll laugh while I watch the world burn" attitude, which seems to be endemic of Trump voters.

@TheWapplehouse Last Halloween, I saw a woman carry a 3-year old through a haunted attraction. Not a mild haunted attraction-- jump scares, graphic makeup/horror scenes, strobe lights, disorienting parts (pitch black, fog, etc.). Scared me, but must have been fucking traumatizing for that kid.

@0liviajulianna I turned 18 in Sept 2000, registered to vote for Al Gore, saw the consequences of Nader votes. 2016, I saw the same apathy happening on the left as 2000. I screamed at the top of my lungs the consequences, voted for HRC. From a Xennial, I really fucking tried. I am truly sorry.
