A double lie here from Ed Miliband:
1. He doesn't need to wait for the Supreme Court to rule on Palestine Action's proscription. The Burnham government could overturn the decision tomorrow if it so chose.
2. Miliband says no one's intent was to criminalise "grannies and vicars" for holding up signs. He's right. That's because the Starmer government imagined it could misuse terrorism laws to intimidate the respectable, white middle classes into silence on genocide.
The plan was to leave "brown" people isolated and exposed to the full force of the law if they raised their voices in protest. The Labour government hoped to associate in the public's mind opposition to genocide with supposed Islamic extremism. It massively underestimated public revulsion at the genocide and the UK's complicity.
Don't expect anyone in the establishment media, including Andrew Marr, to highlight either of these very obvious and salient points.
If you were Israeli leaders, and believed you were being globally accused of crimes you didn't commit in Gaza, what's the first thing you'd do?
Urge the international media to go to Gaza and report the truth.
But if you know the accusations are true, you'd ban international media from reporting freely. That's what Israel is doing even a year after a "cease-fire," and the reason could not be more obvious.
The Palestinian author of the ‘Zionism is Racism’ motion Lubna Spetain was given 2 minutes to speak at end of 10 grueling hours of the Green Party’s Spring Conference
Because of Zionist sabotage, it was the last 2 minutes of the event - and there was no time for members to vote on her historic motion (a situation manufactured by the saboteurs)
But her short speech brought many to tears. It conveyed the urgency of passing this motion now - and without amendments
Palestine cannot wait any longer. The genocidal settler entity must be dismantled - and this long nightmare brought to an end. Zionism is Racism. Listen to Lubna’s speech:
What If?
What if the Russian People and people in countries all over the world were actually all quite friendly after all and it was just a tiny group of profiteers and international psychopaths creating emnity and making money from war.
What if these people were lying to us all about the other fellow creating fear via their media and creating black propaganda for power and for profit.
It’s an awful thought.
Personally we prefer to create profit and goodwill from Cornish Pasties and Scones rather than drones.
And make friends not war.
What do you like to create?
“Blessed are the Peacemakers.”

The Guardian reports on Declassified being barred from the Labour party conference for the third year running.
"That is despite Declassified journalists being accredited with the NUJ, with one staff member also a member of the Parliamentary Press Gallery", the Guardian writes.
This morning, Netanyahu’s so-called “Wing of Zion” plane was authorised to use the airspace of three ICC member countries—Greece, Italy, France—en route to New York
Netanyahu was indicted by ICC in November 2024 for war crimes and crimes against humanity
Law of the jungle
Yesterday, PM @AndyBurnham sent an A400M military plane from RAF Akrotiri on Cyprus to Nevatim Air Base in southern Israel
Nevatim is the central node through which the Gaza genocide was supplied and enacted
The A400M can carry a payload of 81,600 lbs and 116 troops
Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu is indicted by the ICC—of which Britain is a member—for war crimes and crimes against humanity
You are paying for all this
No Ed, Israel's genocide of Gaza isn't "the most complex political issue on the planet".
It's the simplest political issue on the planet. You don't mass-murder children because they're the "wrong race".
Casey Wasserman’s booking agency represents Coldplay, Kendrick Lamar, and Ed Sheeran.
He is featured in the Epstein Files and has been thanked publicly by Benjamin Netanyahu for his support of Israel.
This is far bigger than Macklemore, Ed Sheeran, and one tour.
For the first time, Ed Sheeran’s public shaming shows there may be a price to pay for demonstrating cowardice on the issue of genocide.
That is important. For three years, the billionaire class that rule over us have used the blunt instrument of their financial muscle – force – to dominate not only the political discourse about Gaza but the cultural one too.
The billionaires – the Robert Krafts – own the platforms on which our cultural life is expressed: the legacy media, social media, Hollywood, music labels, publishing houses, venues, and so on.
They use that power to great effect: to prevent any real criticism of the neoliberal capitalist order that enriches them, of the war industries they own that levelled Gaza, of the empire they built that endlessly pillages others’ resources and is rapidly undermining the conditions for life on the planet.
Their stranglehold over our cultural spaces, enforcing a silence against the genocide, is designed to encourage fans to assume that artists and celebrities have little sympathy for the suffering for the Palestinians and reject the idea that Israel is carrying out a genocide.
In a western culture where, rightly or wrongly, large parts of the public see their preferred artists and celebrities as role models, and often look to them for guidance, this enforced silence is exploited by the ruling class as its alibi for inaction.
The cost of pointing out what we can all see in Gaza has been simply too high: no chance of that first big break; calls unreturned; lost work; cancelled contracts; antisemitism smears.
In short, pariahdom.
Macklemore may finally have chipped away at that calculation. In his confrontation with Sheeran, he comes out smelling of roses – and Sheeran emerges as a snivelling toad.
Billionaires punishing artists for taking an honourable stance against genocide – as has happened with actors such as Susan Sarandon and Melissa Barrera, and musicians such as Zarah Larsson and CMAT – has a purpose. It is intended to send a powerful message to others that they should keep their heads down.
Now Sheeran’s shaming has sent a counter-message to his fellow creatives. Being pimped by the billionaires in support of genocide is a bad look.
This is an extract from my latest article Ed Sheeran just learnt: Being pimped by the billionaires for genocide is a bad look. Find a link to the rest in the reply post ⬇️
