It marks the first time since Oct. 7th, 2023, that an Israeli has been indicted for the death of a Palestinian in the West Bank.
I hate this type of defeatist attitude. if this is a 2-3 job economy, workers need to strike. there is no time or logistical method to make this sustainable.

I am deeply disappointed by the Government's intervention to approve a development on Brick Lane despite objections from 7,000 people and Tower Hamlets Council rejecting the application, which includes a proposed data centre.
It is a scandal that this will only deliver 6 homes for social rent in one of the most overcrowded and densely populated places in the country, while thousands of families languish on housing waiting lists and a staggering 1 in 21 children in London are homeless. We will never get back this missed opportunity to deliver the social and affordable housing Tower Hamlets residents urgently need.
I have stood alongside the community in expressing local concerns about the impact of this development on Brick Lane and Banglatown, including gentrification driving up costs and pushing out residents, as well as threatening the future of the historic curry houses and beigel shops that make Brick Lane so unique. This iconic, densely populated destination is clearly not suitable for a data centre.
We support regeneration which benefits local people, protects cultural heritage and strengthens communities. This must always be shaped by the needs of residents, not private profit.
I fear the UK gov. hates anyone born like 1/2 years either side of the millennium. New GCSEs, new A levels, Covid uni, loss of opportunities such as this. Actually SYM
I feel like people discuss London as if
1) regular working class people don’t live here
2) Just because London was a place to spend your 20s, that it isn’t a real home for some of us
Please, please stop campaigning to make it unliveable.
quite a few people showing their true snobbish colours over the past couple of days.
“i oppose ending rough sleeping because it does not benefit me”
“capping energy bills will only save me £45, worthless to me”
“i oppose capping bus fares because i don’t need to use buses”
Like I want y’all to recognize THIS is why your favorite local businesses close. Their business can be just as good as it’s been for years but it just takes a landlord to say I’m doubling your rent for no reason and that’s that. Everything is wrong with capitalism
