I’m not writing this as a fan, but as a dad. A football-loving, middle-aged man who’s watched the noise online grow louder and uglier. And I can’t stay silent anymore.
I’m talking about Taylor Swift. Not her fashion or fame, but the way people grown adults mock her simply for cheering, smiling, and showing up for someone she loves. That’s what bothers you?
Our kids notice. Daughters hear the jokes about “too much Taylor.” Sons learn from the eye-rolls about which women society chooses to ridicule for being visible and joyful.
Here’s the truth: Taylor Swift has earned over 300 awards, including multiple Grammys. Her Eras Tour added nearly $5 billion to the U.S. economy. She donates to food banks in every city she visits, quietly and without asking for applause. Her lyrics are studied at the world’s top universities, not because she’s famous, but because she’s brilliant.
And when a radio DJ assaulted her and sued her, she didn’t hide. She counter-sued for one symbolic dollar, won, and reminded young women everywhere: you matter, and your voice matters.
So no, I’m not a fan because of her music. I’m a fan because she uses her platform with strength, dignity, and purpose. Our daughters deserve better. Our sons need to learn that kindness, success, and womanhood are never reasons for ridicule. Via~Nature Mind
Swifties have been insufferable ( online) since the fandom has been infiltrated by very loud male-centered women, loserish boy moms and inspiring tradwives.
passive suicidal ideation is so funny bc suicide becomes ur default answer to everything like you go damn i should have cropped that picture better before posting it and your brain goes guess what you should do about this
S: “Not one woman has came forward and said he physically hit them. You were the only one."
A: “Look what happened to me when I came forward. Would you?"

Do you think Taylor Swift sits in front of a monitor like the monkey in Toy Story 3 and goes “NEW RELEASE FRIDAY! TIME TO BLOCK ANOTHER ARTIST!” 🥁
In my opinion, argument about “Taylor Swift releasing variants to block other artists so she can stay on the chart” is such a surface way to think.
Taylor Swift, today, is literally a person AND also a cooperation with hundreds of employees that are trying to pay their bills and feed their families. It is their actual job to plan and make strategies (including all these variants) to market the music and increase its value. It’s a business model.
Taylor has a contracted record deal with one of the biggest records labels in the music industry and the significance of those deals are based on the success of the product.
There are hundreds, if not thousands, of people who do security for her, plan her releases, posts, tour dates, scheduling, promotion, copyright, travel, management, payroll, taxes, accounting and so much more. Taylor may give input but this is not a one-person operation and there are many stakeholders involved.
The fact that people on social media are so naive that they blame Taylor Swift for business strategies made by a multitude of teams, and the influence (or possible requirements) from the record label is actually insane to me.
This is NOT a high school pageant show. The music industry… is an industry. Just because all you socially invest in is the CEO (singer) doesn’t mean that they make all the decisions.
We do NOT know Taylor Swift personally and unless you’re friends with her, you will not. People are not their highlight reels on social media and you have no concept on how the actual Taylor Swift acts or thinks.
The fact that people think Taylor Swift is out to get artists is an oversimplification of the actual situation. If you’re going to be mad and blame somebody, re-direct your attention to the teams making the decisions regarding her marketing and chart progression — not the artist who writes music, sings and is on an international tour while the public scrutinizes them for decisions that are out of their main-expertise.
This is true for the majority of all media industries and the artists within them. At some point, you have to wonder why you’re mad at Taylor Swift when the majority of what she does is make music that resonates with millions of people, be a human-being and have to be judged by rude comments that happen to any and every piece of information that just happens to have her name included in it.
Finally, before anyone attempts to invalidate my rant by saying “no one is reading all that” or “it’s not that serious,” here’s a TLDR:
Taylor Swift’s marketing strategies are a result of a team effort, not solely her decisions. Criticism should be directed at the teams responsible for her marketing and chart decisions, not the artist herself.
I enjoy Taylor swift a healthy amount like I will sob in my car to epiphany till the cows come home but there’s a sinister light in her eyes not unlike that of an anglerfish’s lure that tells me she microwaves hamsters whenever Joe pisses her off
