Last week, members of the Dada Devs community participated in the @btcplusplus hackathon, building solutions across Bitcoin payments, privacy, developer tooling, and funding infrastructure.
Four of the projects they contributed to received awards and others went on to get recognitions and amazing partnerships were formed.
But these wins didn't happen overnight.
They came from learning, experimenting, collaborating, shipping projects, and developing the confidence to solve real-world problems with Bitcoin.
That's what Dada Devs is about.
If you're an African female developer who wants to move beyond theory and start building practical Bitcoin applications, Dada Devs Cohort 5 is your opportunity to do exactly that.
The next hackathon, grant program, open-source project, or startup opportunity could be closer than you think.
The question is: will you be ready when it comes?
Applications for Cohort 5 are now open. 🧡

Happy to work with such an innovative layer of bitcoin
The use case of PoWR on real developer issues in the job market was well handled with @Stacks
Thank you @StacksAfrica 👑
Huge congratulations to the PoWR (Proof of Work Reputation) team from @DadaDevs for earning well deserved recognition and securing a finish in the Top 6 at @btcplusplus who use stacks clarity language. The team pitched how PoWR completely solves the broken developer hiring market by analyzing real GitHub commits and anchoring verifiable, tamper proof Proof of Work scores directly onto the Bitcoin secured @Stacks blockchain. No inflated resumes, just pure signal. The future of developer identity isn't locked in closed intranets it's open, verified, and built on Bitcoin. Incredible work pushing the boundaries of Web3 talent intelligence! @Salma_Adam_KE@Abug_fairy@TheeNerdd@KalukiTiiime #Bitcoin #Stacks #Clarity #Web3 #Btrust #ProofOfWork
The numbers speak for themselves: 4 projects with Dada Devs contributors walked away with awards and recognitions.
This is what happens when women are given the opportunity, skills, and support to build. They don't just join the ecosystem—they help push it forward.
Congratulations to every Dada who showed up, built, collaborated, and proved once again that African women belong at the forefront of Bitcoin innovation. 🚀🧡

From peer leads and open-source contributors to software developers and community builders, these are some of the women representing Dada Devs at one of the most respected Bitcoin technical gathering.
As they join conversations, share insights, and connect with builders from around the world this week, they carry with them the spirit of Dada Devs: learning openly, building boldly, and creating space for more women in Bitcoin and open source.
We're proud of how far they've come and even more excited about what's ahead.
Go represent, Go learn, Go build. Go Dadas.

@btc_dada@DadaDevs Grateful to @marcelorraine for the thought of this community. May 16th is in my heart, I love being here🥰👌. To more of everything good that aligns through this space.
Saturday was more than a graduation.
It was a reflection of what happens when women are given access, community, education, and room to grow. They thrive, and in turn societies thrive!
And somehow, this still feels like only the beginning. ✨

Our Operations Manager @wandiology also took us through the impact Bitcoin Dada has created over the last four years — from the thousands of women trained across Africa to the communities, programs, and opportunities that continue to emerge through this work.
And of course, one of the most beautiful moments was watching graduates walk up to receive their certificates, a reminder that every class attended, every late night, every challenge, and every moment of doubt was worth it.

Our founder, @marcelorraine , spoke about how the conversation around women in technology, and specifically in Bitcoin, is shifting. Women are no longer just being viewed as participants in the ecosystem, but as builders, founders, developers, educators, and owners helping shape the future of financial infrastructure.
We also heard powerful stories from alumni whose journeys through Bitcoin Dada have transformed their lives in different ways.
Some have gone on to become funded startup founders.
Some are now consultants building careers through the skills they gained.
Others are growing circular economies, educating communities, and creating opportunities for people around them.
