Summary:

Waanverse Labs is seeking a Legal & Compliance Expert with strong knowledge of the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) licensing process. This role is crucial for ensuring our fintech platform complies with regulatory requirements, and the individual will help us navigate the necessary licensing to operate legally within Uganda’s capital markets. Success in this position means ensuring that our company adheres to all relevant regulations and is fully licensed to offer our services.

Responsibilities:
- Guide and manage the process of obtaining the necessary CMA licenses for our operations.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with CMA regulations and other applicable financial regulations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure all legal documents and requirements are met.
- Provide clear advice on regulatory matters, including reporting and documentation.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in the CMA and other financial regulations in Uganda.
- Draft and review contracts and agreements to ensure compliance with applicable laws.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience in legal and compliance roles, preferably with knowledge of CMA licensing.
- Strong understanding of Ugandan financial regulations and capital markets.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Degree in Law, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- Relevant certifications in compliance or regulatory affairs are a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Success in this role will be measured by the successful acquisition of the necessary CMA licenses, maintaining compliance, and providing clear legal guidance as the company grows.
