In case we ever get there, by the way, it’s Premier League, not Premiership.
It hasn’t been the Premiership for over 20 years.
The Premiership belongs in Scotland and Rugby
It’s like calling the Chanpionship the Champions League
Thank you
@BristolCityFM@EFLFanEdits I know his running stats are up there, but is he actually in terms of actual pressing, on ball recovery / causing errors etc? Feels like he often runs a lot and works hard without necessarily causing as much of a problem?
@GolledgeChris@PaulPhi68760146 “It’s just how” is exactly that point??
The issue generally hasn’t been the amount spent, it’s where and how it’s been spent
Only one club of the 48 that have played in the Championship over the last decade has made an operating profit per @valuball
Eight have made losses exceeding £200m in that period (2015/16 to 2024/25).
@richwebb1974 Exactly! I have never understood that argument that that’s what we *want* to do. Who wouldn’t want to get promoted and earn all the riches? It’s just the owner has different views of how to spend his money than many fans do
@TheAngelofAIM1 Absolutely yes. Not sure the transfer budget bit is necessarily true as a rolling average if you compare across the other non parachute clubs, we’ve had our phases of spend, as others do. But how we’ve spent definitely an issue
@_W00KS_@ronnabe Well, offsetting against the losses, that puts us just about mid table in this. And a few of these will have made a bigger profit than us too
@anthonyboutall Very much as BBC 5 Live presenters - especially Breakfast - do. Whoever they speak to, they get listeners from all sides complaining they’re being biased/easy/harsh - shows how balanced they must be
Suspect most are more balanced than many of the unwashed believe…

Eight matches picked for TV for the FA Cup First Round and the match between the runaway leaders of the National League, at home to the 2013 winners isn’t one of them 🤔
@footballontnt
@CricketIsRobbed Harsh on the rest of his career. But Jack Leach is best known for scoring 1* having taken 142 Test wickets and scored 92 when once opening the batting
