#F1 Weather @BAH_Int_Circuit: Quite active weather today in the UAE-region with lots of rain as seen on the radar. For Bahrain also -light and isolated showers- are not ruled out on Saturday - let's hope ๐ (FRI/SUN: โ๏ธ)
Your first ultimate pace chart of the year - the biggest differences to #F1Testing is clearly Mercedes (+) & Toro Rosso (-). Perez took P10 w/ a car that should've barely got thru Q1. #Quali#AusGP#F1
Last year, Pirelli took the ultrasoft, supersoft & soft to Melbourne - this year, knowing which new code is which, it is the ultrasoft (C4), soft (C3) & medium (C2), so a touch harder all in all. Expect the same ultrasoft-soft (C4-C3) one-stoppers as in 2018. #AusGP#F1
C5 is practically last year's hypersoft, C4 is a bit harder than last year's ultrasoft, C3 is exactly last year's soft, C2 is practically last year's medium & C1 is a bit softer than last year's hard. #AusGP#F1
POWER RANKINGS:
The final rankings make for an interesting reading - as a one-off, it shows the difference to the teams' actual ch'ip position, not the previous race's ranking. See for yourself who overdelivered & who underdelivered...

This #quali borders on the surreal - Hamilton has made two relatively significant mistakes on his lap, but he's still on provisional pole! #AbuDhabiGP#F1
Or would've done so, but Bottas did finish his lap after all - so it's Bottas on hypersoft, all the others on ultrasoft for the start. #Quali#AbuDhabiGP#F1

Vettel is the only one to try a 2nd run on the ultrasoft - he clearly hasn't changed his approach & is willing to risk everything to try to get on level terms w/ Hamilton. He clearly believes he, as a driver, can get more or less the same laptime in. #Quali#AbuDhabiGP#F1

Not sure, but Red Bull might have gone a step down on downforce for today, hence the missing performance in the twisty sector 3. Rear wings seem slightly different. Will check & compare top speeds w/ #FP2 later on after #quali. #AbuDhabiGP#F1
That was some lap from Hamilton again - full beans, of course, but so were the others of the top 6. It's a 35.7, a full 0.7s quicker than Bottas & Co. He's likely safe - the others? Not so much. Advantage Hamilton on strategy (too). #Quali#AbuDhabiGP#F1
Remember, the difference b/w hypers and ultras in #FP2 was an unexpectedly high 1.2s - don't think the top 3 can make it through on the latter, but of course we've just been proved wrong on a sentence we began w/ we "don't think..." #Quali#AbuDhabiGP#F1
...Vettel then improves by a further 0.2s, but then Bono tells Hamilton that Vettel was up by an engine mode. So it's still tight. #Quali#AbuDhabiGP#F1
VERY tight at the front, barely 0.2s b/w the top 3 teams! Hamilton & Mercedes unexpectedly quick in the twisty sector 3 & down at the speed traps, suggesting Ferrari is running lighter on downforce. #Quali#AbuDhabiGP#F1
