It has now been 3 days since our last update and 9 days since FortForge first went offline.
Unfortunately there is still no major changes to say. FortForge continues to be offline due to a lack of funding and the costs of keeping the platform online. While we understand this has been/is frustrating for many users of the community, bringing the platform back online requires resources that we currently do not have.
At this time, the platform continues to rely primarily on community donations and support. Every donation no matter the amount, helps us continue working toward a better future for FortForge.
Many users have asked why we have not used Ads as a funding source. Initially, Ads were not a option due to the FortForge Builds archive (Fortnite Build Archive). Google listed that part of the platform as “illegal,” which prevented us from being approved for Ads. We explored several alternative Ad networks and monetization methods (Site Subscriptions) but most required a significantly larger user base than we currently have in order to generate meaningful revenue, and the other received massive backlash.
Because of these limits we have, we have had to rely on community donations to help cover costs. Unfortunately donations alone have not been enough to keep the site online at this time. Any donation no matter how small, makes a difference to bringing the site up and helps support our efforts while we continue looking into rethinking Ads.

“Part of it” as in the Fortnite Build Archive part. Everything else is fine.
Why we won’t do a Asset Forum in Discord? The Founder and CEO explained it in a recent Forum:
“It's just mainly the freedom, we can do so much on the site which isn't possible on discord and there's a fair amount of bad actors in the UEFN space that some users don't want to be able to access their assets, so having our own site allows us to more easily moderate and manage stuff like this.
I also don't want to just turn this into one of those asset sharing servers with a load of other people stuff circulating without them knowing, if its on site anyone can easily identify if something is their stuff where as not everyone might know the server is there.”
Hope this helps clear up some things 🙂
@WreckedelkJr It’s a risk we’re looking into. We’re began rethinking Ads and moving the Builds Archive to a separate site, but it wont be quick and simple.
We want to provide everyone an update on the current status of FortForge:
FortForge remains offline again due to lack of funding. Running and maintaining the platform requires high expenses, including server infrastructure, storage, bandwidth, development, and other services that keep everything running.
For a while now, we’ve relied on community donations and support to help cover these monthly costs. Unfortunately the level of support needed to sustain the site has not been enough to keep the platform online.
FortForge has always existed because of its community, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who has contributed, supported the platform, uploaded resources, reported bugs/issues, and helped the platform grow over the last few months.
If funding and support become available, we would love to restore services.

Hey everyone, things got a little messy with the paid subscriptions release recently and it wasn't handled the best so we want to make it right.
Starting today, all users will have access to the new user dashboard with better navigation, faster load times and advanced analytics.

@FurnaceKnightTw Hey, i’m sorry about this and i will take full accountability for that, i didn’t intend for it come off to be an argument, i was only trying to state the facts.
@RayBenefield We actually specified that it wasn’t $300, but could get up to it depending on the months usage. Since you need to know everything here’s you breakdown of everything:
- Database
- Vercel
- Imagekit CDN
- CF R2 Storage
- B2 Storage
- Cloudflare Pro
- Emailing API
- VPS
@NebulaFN Are we viewing the same website? In what world has there ever been a follower fee? And have you viewed the website once in the last 4 months to know there isn't a 24 hour time limit anymore? It's been a 3 hour time limit since January.
And you're correct about the minimum being $8, and how this may be too expensive. We had plans with lowering the prices, but we never got to get to that point.
Our prices were originally higher as funding can be up to $300 a month at times depending on the usage. But we do understand where everyone was coming from.
Hey everyone, here's the update as promised:
After careful consideration and thoughtful review of everyone's negative feedback of subscriptions launch, we've made the unfortunate decision to remove site subscriptions indefinitely.
We genuinely wanted this funding option to help and support FortForge's stability in the long run. We understand everyone wont agree with every change made, but the amount of hate that has been sent, as well as a "fake user leak" being brought up due to this has made it severely difficult to move forward with something we had hopes that could've benefited the platform in the long run.
We always listen to our communities thoughts and voices but the launch of subscriptions was nothing else but discouraging for something that was worked on for months. Instead of receiving constructive criticism we receive what basically seemed like pure outrage, false facts, and lies on Twitter, which honestly has been disappointing.
But at the end of the day FortForge was created by the community, for the community. Instead of leaving something that has caused this much backlash, we're taking a step back and removing it entirely.
We appreciate those who gave feedback and support throughout this, even if you disagreed. And another thing, over the coming days we'll be integrating features from the paid subscriptions into the main site as a sorry from the FortForge Team 💙

We wouldnt use the word profit, we would've made basically no profit as all money earned would go directly into keeping the platform online, which was the whole point of expanding this funding option.
We have a donation section for months now, but no one uses it unless we "beg" after site goes down, which is a pitiful way to earn funding.
