🌍 Today is World Population Day.

Over the past 10+ years, while following major events around the world for the Mercurius project, one of my guiding criteria has been population.

The idea was simple: understand the issues affecting the greatest number of people. This naturally led me to follow large countries—some of them in the Global South—as closely as, or even more closely than, smaller Western nations.

If Mercurius aims to speak to the world, it first has to understand where most of the world's people live, work and face their daily challenges.
