@the_yanco@FBI Do you consider the increasing difficulty of doing so as time goes by and computers get more capable?
What if delaying it means it gets even harder to control in the future due to faster computers?
@dwlz Economic incentives depend on the customer finding the service useful. I think you are being too cynical if you are implying they donโt care about the quality of the models they offer you.
@ivanich22893@ONagel33303@3blue1brown Even if your take on this is correct, there's nothing wrong with contemplating what will happen if the success is indeed primarily due to the his communication style.
@NekroTheDhampir I think you should focus more on articulating the use of technology that you disagree with and less on the technology/architecture or terminology. Technology is bound to evolve and what you are calling "predictive" might end up doing exactly what you think "generative" does.
@astral_jay@SyntheticBeef@thalwain What's not rocket science is figuring out that you haven't spent 2 minutes reading about the very technology you claim to oppose. You know so little that you gave what you thought was a counterexample when in reality it is precisely the same thing.
@CixFaith@TimSweeneyEpic People created boardgames for many years before the invention of computers. Why did we need computers? Why make videogames in the first place?
@johndyer Part of me likes icecream.
Another part of me looks at all the suffering that technology should alleviate โ 35 mil below poverty line, 28 million without healthcare access, 1.3 mil abortions a year, almost a million homeless, and so on โ and it seems so hollow.
