my favorite author is akweke emezi. they're such a phenomenal writer. and if there's one classic i love deeply, it's chinua achebe's things fall apart. it is a rich ideologically and literarily.

i've always been a reader but i've been struggling to read this year. joined a book club to help with that and also just for community and it hasn't been bad. they just never read queer books, obviously.

i love when bls and queer romance is told with soft stillness. movie wise, my favorite gay romances are cactus pear (need to rewatch), aristotle and dante, a nice indian boy, the way he looks at him. i've read call me by your name but i will never see the movie, can't do that.

honestly when it comes to music, i consider myself a fan of albums rather than artists. this year, my top 5 albums in no particular order would be u (underscores), this music contains hope (raye), hazel eyes (sam smith), starrgirl (ayra starr) and confession II (madonna).

my music taste is very broad, or maybe not. i listen to pop ballads, RnB, electronic music, hyper-pop, afrobeats, alté, oh yeah... and kpop (girl groups).

i would say my favorite artists are sam smith (of course) and tems. they're my only constants musically.

Cependant j'aimerais rappeler que Olaudah Equiano et les auteurs et autrices d'origine africaine qui écrivaient leur autobiographie au 18e siècle étaient déjà accusés par les esclavagistes de ne pas être les véritables auteurs et autrices -forçant les éditeurs à rajouter "authentique" ou "véridique" dans les titres- car l'idée même d'une littérature produite par des noirs était incompatible avec la thèse de leur infériorité. C'est ici que se trouve un noeud idéologique du problème. Si l'IA n'a pas de couleur, son usage apporte néanmoins une arme raciale supplémentaire et particulière ici au concept du "nègre littéraire" aujourd'hui blanchi et remplacé par d'autres termes comme "écrivain fantôme" ou "prête plume". Nous vivons en tout cas une époque dont beaucoup de réponses se trouvent encore dans le 18e siècle.
