Hey Victor, Jesus after his resurrection revealed himself to some of his disciples and in one of those occasions, he said to them:
“Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?”
(Luke 24:26 NIV)
The next verse continues that Jesus explained what was said in the Bible about himself.
That’s what I’ll attempt to do as well:
To get a clear picture, I’ll start with the depiction of the first human sin.
When God created man, he was perfect and faultless, but he eventually disobeyed God by eating of the ‘forbidden’ fruit.
The scripture tells us that the moment he eats from that fruit, he would die. This death wasn’t a physical death, but a spiritual one. It was sin entering the world, and passed by blood to every generation.
“but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”
Genesis 2:17 NIV
“Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned”
Romans 5:12 NIV
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 6:23 NIV
At the point where man fell, God had already prepared a redemptive plan. God declared that it would be the seed (offspring) of the man that’ll bruise the serpent’s (satan’s) head and heel.
“And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.”
Genesis 3:15 NKJV
As time went on, God continued to prove to us that we couldn’t get redemption by our works, because they are a filthy rag before him (Isaiah 64:6).
God revealed to Israel, his chosen one that he would send a messiah who would provide redemption from eternal damnation (that we brought upon ourselves) by being the perfect sacrifice for sin.
Prophet Isaiah was one of those prophets who declared by the Spirit:
“Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.
After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities.”
Isaiah 53:10-11 NIV
The Bible tells us that when the time was ripe, Jesus Christ eventually died for us. (Romans 5:6)
Concerning Christ, the scripture further reveals:
“Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!”
Romans 5:9-10 NIV
“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”
1 Peter 2:24 NIV
“He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.”
1 John 2:2 NIV
To receive the life God has promised us, we just need to believe in Christ’s finished work:
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
Romans 10:9-10 NIV
Finally, the scriptures say:
“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
John 3:18 NKJV
@SpiricocoNg First of all...don't be biased...and mind you, I'm not in any way justifying what Apostle Peters said but many of your favourite preachers have said stuffs that aren't consistent with scriptures, well, if you would be honest enough, yet, to you, they aren't false. It's well.
@SpiricocoNg Let's be careful. The fact someone teaches something that is doctrinally extreme doesn't make him a false preacher.
It marvels me...how people just call out preachers false. First, a matured Christian would have taken time to intercede for the preacher in question... gross!
I need someone who knows how to design magazines (you should know how) I have a Gig for you? Just let me know how much charge.
