NLC President is trending because Joe Ajaero was released on bail few minutes to NLC deadline.

He was released at exactly 23:25 by the DSS after NLC gave them until 00:00, otherwise all unions will strike.

Suspicious were, Joe was arrested over a petition from AirPeace, for disruption. Which AirPeace said they've withdrawn and settled amicably. - Not for the conspiracy allegations.

But according to Daily Trust, Joe Ajaero was arrested over same conspiracy allegations and terrorism financing filed by unnamed senior NLC members. And while he was in detention yesterday, he was grilled for hours.

According to the DSS, Joe kept ignoring their invitations.

But, Joe's counsel reiterated that, before he left for UK, he had already told the DSS that he won't be able to meet their invitation date, because he had already committed to the World Trade Union Congress in London, but will report to them on Monday once he arrives Nigeria.

While the DSS said they arrested him because he has been refusing to honor invitations and promised to report to their office yesterday Monday, but they were shocked to receive intel that he was about traveling to UK. And they can't just fold their hands and watch such contempt. Hence, he was arrested.

While this was seemingly contrary to what his team are saying. It is the reason his arrest came as a shock to his entire team.

Which is why in reaction the Union said;

"His detention is therefore a brazen act of lawlessness and intimidation as he has not been declared wanted by any law enforcement body. His detention is a brazen act of intimidation and completely unjustified under the laws of our nation."

Recall, on the 19th of August 2024, Joe Ajaero was invited by the Nigerian police on potential links to Criminal Conspiracy, Terrorism Financing, Treasonable Felony, Subversion and Cybercrime.
